Well now this is maybe where it come in my head. It sounds like he wasn't in all the time and didn't move his family up as I thought. Does sound from other posters though that he was in more often than I initially thought? It all seems very childish from him in that interview, especially the crack about Clive Clarke and his heart attack! He can maybe just maybe say that stuff as a pundit to seem 'edgy' but not as a manager. Didn't seem to like Short not being in awe because it's Roy Keane?
Keane is the football equivalent of Boris Johnson imo. Big character, loads of wisecracks and plenty of opinions ... ... likes the idea of being the big boss, just doesn't want to do all the hard work.
Yeah, I think there's definitely an element of that. For me it's another example of him not having the temperament for it, too thin-skinned and not capable of taking the criticism that inevitably will come his way. I've just been reading some stories from his first spell here. Some of them make you think he's a genius at getting in the players' heads. Others make you think he's just an idiot. I think the problem is, he's tried very hard to be like Brian Clough. There are two problems with that- he's not Brian Clough and Cloughy's approach won't work these days. https://www.planetsport.com/soccer/...-best-stories-first-spell-coaching-sunderland
With an international break coming up, I think the club needs to seriously consider an appointment this month. Really concerning signs in games under Dodds so far, feels like we need some fresh ideas now, team looks lost
Definitely these young players could be mentally shot without some real leadership, that’s if they aren’t already because they’re starting to look it.
This can’t go on. We are sleep walking into a relegation battle with every passing week. We need to go with the begging bowl to Cooper and actually get a manager in. It’s a shambles.
Agree. Speakman needs to get rid that front bench and get some serious football people in. Not rent a coach , spreadsheet boys.
In fact I’m usually one that sees everything through red n white spectacles but I’ll lose all confidence in the owners if this isn’t addressed soon it’s footballing suicide to not bring in a proper manager/head coach.
this was my point in that thread the other day. A repeat of the last 5 games puts us just three points above relegation. I’m nowhere near thinking this season is over. I wish it was.
Not sure on Warnock. The reason being is that he’d be another interim, I think we need a permanent in now and get ready for next season.
me neither. It will be Dodds until end of season and on the final day we will scrape safety and he’ll look resigned in the interview after. Like Sbragia did!
