I love it like, best course going if you're creatively inclined. I did 3 modules in my final year (which allowed me to dodge the dreaded Dissertation) so covered all the disciplines of prose, poetry and script writing. Had a few poems published and stuff and thought that was the way I would go but based my final project on the North East (even wrote a poem about going to watch Newcastle play) and Belfast is a very 'local' Uni, so didn't go down particularly well...Anyway, got a 1st in my prose stuff so decided/was told to specialise in that for my MA.

Short stories is the way I go (at least one a week every week) but other people are in the process of writing a novel and so hand in 2000 words/a chapter of it each week instead...
...So, there is a very long winded way of telling you...I do stories...
Wow, sounds fantastic. I can't wait to start properly doing it, don't have the time at the minute what with other work to be doing. Always have ideas for things when I'm on travelling or whatever, recently my girlfriend bought me a tiny notebook I can pocket and take with me to jot things down, as I usually forget things quite easily

I really like short stories too, into modernist short fiction at the minute like Kafka or Fitzgerald, then Poe's collection of short stories are really good. Also been reading a book that has loads of horror short stories written by people like Stevenson and Roald Dahl, which is pretty cool. Also like the idea of travel writing, like Bryson. Last year I wrote just a short 2000 word piece on trains, etc. stream of consciousness and the like.. about hating train travel
I'm like you, short attention span. Short stories are the way to go.
