It's ok to discriminate against White people. That's what it's turned into now as everyone is so eager to keep the minority groups happy. They shouldn't even ask your ethnic origin, it shouldn't come into it. They can find out at interview.

And even then it shouldn't matter, **** 'positive' discrimination. If I was an ethnic minority in this country I would be insulted if I got the job just to make up the non-White British quota.

As long as someone got my (admittedly poor) attempt at a joke then I'm happy.

Are you for real?? If so that is disgusting. At least you found yourself a better job afterwards anyway :)

I study Economics and English literature in Bordeaux, while concentrating on languages such as Spanish and Chinese.
Fluent in French so thought it'd be appropriate to have a larger variety.
No idea what I want to do later on in life though :/

The exact same thing happened to my brother in law. They even went as far as saying he was the 'ideal candidate' for the job however he wasn't going to be accepted because they were looking to diversify through recruitment. Total garbage.

My eldest lad got exactly the same response when he was in Sheffield about 7 years ago. He wrote a letter back thanking them for their reply, however should he turn to a life of crime he'd be grateful if he was persued by those from a diverse ethnic background.
