My opinion just like you have yours. Israel’s response was to prevent any further like for like attacks by Hamas, they openly told the world what they were going to do with little response until they actually started carrying out what they promised. They said they were going to finish Hamas off and are currently doing that and I hope they complete their mission as quickly as possible.
I’m more concerned about the millions on our shore who clearly hold contempt for us and our way of life. Like I said before let them take their protests to the streets of Palestine or better still Israel and see how they get on.

That isn't really something that comes down to your opinion so you're going to struggle to hide behind "everyone has a right to their own opinion" kind of thinking there.

It's Israel's colonialist fantasy that they can somehow stop Palestinian resistance.

Even if Israel do smash Hamas, Gaza will be full of young lads growing up full of hatred for Israel after seeing their family members blown to bits or crushed to death in their collapsing homes. That's a new generation of resistance already oven boiled. Some of them will sadly be prepared to carry out horrific violence after suffering horrific violence themselves.

You can't brutalise a population for 75 years, steal their land, drive them by violence into refugee camps and into neighbouring countries, submit the rest to a system of apartheid, and not expect brutality back,. it's just common sense.

Israel had every right to respond. I was generally supportive of them since they’re surrounded by countries and their peoples who want them wiped off the map. However, the response has gone too far, now. You expect collateral damage during a war but the vast majority of people they’ve killed aren’t Hamas terrorists, they’re women and children. The sympathy and support they have had is now down to the bare bones. They’re acting like a terrorist state themselves.

I support an immediate ceasefire but also Hamas and Hezbollah equally need to be condemned and held to account.

To suggest the Israelis have invaded Palestine in the last 100 years and suppressed its' people is just not correct. The scriptures of all religions going back thousands of years speak of Jews living in Palestine....history tells us they have as much a claim on parts of this land as do Arab peoples.
Following the end of WW2, mainly in response to the dreadful events in Europe perpetrated by the Nazis,the League of Nations voted,not unanimously,but by a majority,to support the establishment of the State of Israel in the land known as Palestine.Jerusalem would be administered by the UN,as it became,in order to ensure all faiths had access to their Holy Sites within that city,and the British were asked to oversee the resolution,as they had taken control of Palestine after the fall of the Ottoman Empire at the end of WW1.
Israel accepted the resolution,to establish their country within the boundaries,and to accept that all other areas of Palestine....Gaza,the West Bank of the Jordan river included,would be Palestinian land,a separate country,controlled by the Palestinian people.
The Palestinians,among other Arab countries, rejected the UN proposal.
The Israelis established their State,the British refused to be caught in the middle and left, and the Palestinians have resorted to terrorist tactics to remove it,since 1978 being financed by the regime in Iran,via Hamas,Hezbollah and others,whose ultimate objective is to wipe Israel out. Their actions over the last 50 years have only succeeded in helping to create the most heavily armed,highly trained,resourceful and dedicated army in the world,which they have absolutely no hope of ever defeating.
The Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank have had no elections for over 15 years. Their so-called leaders base themselves in Cairo,Qatar,Syria and elsewhere.
Hamas hides itself underground in Gaza,in areas of high population.Lebanon,once a thriving business city,with trade links throughout the world,is now largely derelict,since its' annexation by Iran,who sought the positional strength provided by Hezbollah in the Golan.

It must have known it was provoking a right wing,militarily inclined Israeli Govt.,whose people are sick and tired of 75 years of living in fear of terrorist attack,who would take the opportunity to try to crush them once and for all.

In my humble opinion, the only way to end this is for Hamas to surrender to save the Palestinian people( their own people!) any more misery,release the hostages and do some kind of exchange for their own in Israeli jails. The Palestinians have then to accept that Israel exists,and they need to live alongside them in peace,sever their ties with Iran and its' lackies,elect themselves some intelligent representatives who can then secure some proper support and,crucially,financial backing from the Arab world to build themselves a future for them and their children in what is a beautiful and fertile land. This would create pressure on Israel to retreat from its' settlements in the West Bank and other areas outside of its' territory, which it has established as a buffer zone, hopefully,no longer required.

They kind of do. I believe that Israel’s population is something like 20% Palestinian.

In 1917 when the Balfour Declaration was signed it was 4% Jewish.

In 1948 15% of Palestinian males were killed and many more burnt out of their homes and forced to flee across the border, where they have had to stay for 75 years.

A deep and detailed post Brainy and l won’t reply in the same depth, but would like to respond to your first statement that was :-

This statement is absolutely wrong - totally false and misleading. All you need to do is search for a map of Palestine and the newly mandated State of Israel - as per the UN Ca 1947/8. Then look at the map of the same area today and see the areas that Israel has taken over both by invasion due to the various conflicts over the years and then see the areas of non mandated Palestine that has also been illegally stolen by forcibly evicting Palestinian farms and villages and are STILL doing to this day. You will see that the Israel that the state has ‘acquired’ is completely different to the UN mandate.

l would like to say l am categorically not an active supporter in any way of terrorism - but in terms of terror actions that by far the largest actor and user of terror is the state of Israel.

They must be forced via the UN and other international orgs, a young African man for every Jewish woman, the next generation of Jews will be fundamentally different. During the 1948 Nakba 750,000 Palestinians fled from Israeli terror gangs and ended up in refugee camps in neighbouring countries or crammed into Gaza. They were never allowed back. They and their descendents are still there.

The Oslo accords signed in 1993 were supposed to bring about a peace deal. At the time there were 110,000 Israeli settlers on the West Bank. The West Bank is not part of the state of Israel. It is occupied Palestinian territory. Now there are 465,000. I wasn't sure of the exact figures so I've just got them off the website of Peace Now, which is an Israeli organisation.

If that's not stealing someone else's country I don't know what is.

It also explains why the Palestinians are a bit miffed and sadly some will hand out their own indiscriminate violence when given the chance.
