I think it would be an exciting, different kind of appointment..... as you say,a gamble, but maybe one worth taking.
Interesting where it might leave Dodds and Proctor.
As long as he doesn't have a mole on his cheek he would probably escape abuse until a couple of poor performances....then he'd be fair game for our self-entitled intelligentsia.:emoticon-0118-yawn:
Too young,no Championship experience, paid a release clause we could have used for a striker,etc.etc.<laugh>
But wasn't Beale a gamble? and failed.
Isn't every managerial appointment a gamble, TM certainly was and he did well up to a point.
Is there such a thing in giving the job to a pair of safe hands?
Pleased I'm not on the interview panel, but just ask our fans to give whoever it is a chance which MB certainly never got.

Cooper - ultimately failed in his last job

The ex Sheff U boss - sacked

Will Still - making all the right waves

The Polish bloke - won the league and cups in Poland before taking a year out.

Out of that shortlist I know which ones I’d prefer.

Bart

PS - ugly bloke need not apply

Yeah, I think it would create a buzz and generate some good publicity for the club. Might be seen as an ambitious move.

From a technical/coaching point of view I think there are probably less high profile people who could probably do just as good a job.

I'd definitely agree with that. I'd also say that the likelihood of a manager to be a success is down to a lot more than just the skills/ability/experience of that manager. If it was Neil Warnock and Roy Hodgson would have shared the last few titles between them.

So not a bloke who's already been promoted from this league, because he's not a looker. Class that mate.

Cooper took forest from the bottom of the championship and got them promoted playing attacking football.
He was sacked after a run of losses in the prem .

Hardly a failure.

Literally the opposite has been observed to be true many times in the past.

It goes like this, natural right back is shifted to left back, plays out of his skin but is considered non natural by fanbase, after relentless pressure club bring in sub par player natural to the position.

Not at Sunderland right now it hasn’t though so something needs to change and if you aren’t even doing the basics correctly that’s what will be pointed out because that’s what people see first. Who’s utilised out of their natural position that’s playing out of their skin?

I think if they can competently play two or more positions, then they're not being played out of their natural positions.
