He's the youngest head coach in the big European leagues. He's 31 and was an analyst at Lierse. He got their manager's job after being made caretaker at 24 and a similar thing happened at Beerschott. Then he got the Reims job. And, to be fair to him, he's got them going well. 11th last season and I think they're about 8th now. Reims are historically a massive club but they've been in the doldrums for years. Probably since the 1950s. Reims players made up most of the France team at the 1958 World Cup.
There were a lot of news stories about a him a little while back because of his age and because he didn't have his UEFA Pro Licence so Reims were paying a fine every game.
He talks well about the game and he probably has got something about him. He's no more or less of a gamble than Beale, in my opinion. I think a lot of people have been seduced by the fact that he's relatively high profile after all the news stories. It probably would be a bit of a PR coup for the club to get him. Hopefully, though, the club's analysis will be sufficiently in depth that they won't be swayed by the noise around him and, if he is our next manager, he's appointed for the right reasons.
