If BSA is Allardyce there is no chance. Wouldn't work in the current set up as he likes to signs his own players (preferably ones connected to agents he knows)!

To be fair, Still said he didn't want to come to Sunderland ...

... which is quite an obstacle in getting him to come here.

That's the problem with the argument that 'the club needs to show ambition' etc.

We're a recent L1 basket case where players, like Grigg, had to literally be bribed to come. Of course it would be lovely if we could pick & choose between Cooper, Still, Potter, etc, but we're just another Championship hopeful in reality ...

... Birmingham have shown how difficult it is to bring in the right manager, three so far this season.

Sometimes, like Leicester and Ranieri, you get the right man entirely by accident.

I think the club will at least speak to Frank Lampard. Just my opinion before the tomatoes start getting thrown.

lol does it really matter who it is? Names like Potter and Cooper get mentioned in the betting odds even Scott Parker etc, more than likely not happening. The obsession with Will Still, whom reportedly said no due to possible restrictions and wanted to stay where he was... we ended up with Beale, that was met with Meh. Mowbray met with Meh before that. Infact, in recent memory, the only Manager/Coach people buzzed for was Coleman. My point is, we'll end up with who we end up with mate.

He's had Chelsea and Everton in the Prem. He could be one of these that's no quite good enough for the Prem, but more than capable in the Championship. Just another name mate in the hat, mate. Won't happen, but something to consider.

I think you're absolutely right although, of course, the Championship isn't the PL.

I remember the sheer envy, from many Sunderland supporters, when Kompany took Burnley up. He was a 'tactical genius' with totally modern regimes, fanatical devotion from the players and nailed on to replace Pep at Man City.

In the PL they're absolutely rotten, the players have stopped trying and he stares at the pitch like he's never seen a football pitch before ...

... people, who still support him, will blame the owner, the coaches, the players, etc.

It's tricky stuff running a football club <laugh>

He's the youngest head coach in the history of the top 5 leagues in Europe. A proven track record of trophies isn't the appeal when hiring a 31 year old head coach to be fair.
