You are letting your emotions cloud your judgment. Typical liberal. This was an important interview. Hopefully it wakes westerners up to how inept our leaders are. It is not good that we are having rings run around us on the global stage. I am not praising Putin’s ideology or what he is doing. It is transparently propaganda. But he spoke to Western audiences with more respect and dignity than our own leaders do. I think that is very telling about the state of things over here.

Yes. Hitler was a fantastic orator. His ability to persuade large numbers of people will be studied forever. You seem to see something admirable in Putin. I would rather a bumbling fool with good intentions than a snake with a golden tongue. Putin turned down interviews with hundreds of reputable journalists and chose the laughing stock of journalism to help him convince stupid right wingers to stop supporting Ukraine. Anyone who buys a word of it needs their brain realigning.
I do see admirable qualities in him, for sure. He is very intelligent & charismatic, knows history extremely well, knows the global economy and geopolitics with an intimate knowledge. He is putting Russian people and their interests first on the global stage. None of which can be said about any of our politicians. However he is also totally disgusting, misguided, selfish, evil, willing to commit heinous acts and a product of a bygone era. There is no justification for the violence he has caused and the world would be a better place without him and his ilk in it. Have you watched the interview?

He is absolutely not putting the interests of the Russian people first. He is quite likely the richest man in the world because he has stolen hundreds of billions from the Russian economy personally, while funnelling hundreds of billions more to his cronies, And getting hundreds of thousands of Russians killed and maimed in his vainglorious war didn't serve their interests much, either,
And yet his approval ratings in Russia are currently the highest in nearly a decade according to a non-government survey. It’s always difficult to know how reliable surveys are from a country like Russia. But it does appear that many Russians support him and the war.
It's very difficult to accurately poll Russian approval of the war given that it's quite literally a crime to be against the war. Another thing he has generously done for the Russian people.
True. He makes it criminal to be against war Our leaders lie, change and ignore international laws so they can start wars. Putin said in the interview that he is willing to negotiate. That he is not expansionist, that this is isolated to just Ukraine based on it’s recent history. Our wars are mostly so the west can maintain its power and keep the money flowing around the military industrial complex. I don’t know if I believe Putin but I hope he was telling the truth that he is going no further. It is 100% worth a watch though. You guys on here as usual commenting without even watching it do make me laugh.
I have watched over an hour of it. He's willing to negotiate on the basis that Ukraine does not exist as a nation or a people, which was the purpose of his history lesson. Which neglects the bit where the biggest reason for the Ukraine nation and people is that they have been brutalized by Russian chauvinism for more than a century and do not desire it further. And no, "the Ukrainians should submit to ethnic cleansing in the name of peace" is not a good argument.
