I agree it's a ****ing mess and they look a real problem Rico but hitting them isn't the answer and it would be liberty taking..And,sods law,the police would arrive and arrest YOU? On top of that, hitting someone carries risks...Hit him,he smacks his head on a kerb,he dies, judge sends you down. I'm not condoning their behaviour,it's diabolical.I see the same **** in Glasgow,in busy Streets. We're all rightly sick of it but until drugs are eradicated totally(and that's never going to happen),we need to find a solution. Off the top of my head,I can't see one?
i have sympathy with drug addicts, it is a horrific thing, however, theres no excuse for the disgraceful behaviour people like this showed spitting, and pouring his drink on the bus driver, cities are full of people like this up and down the country and they make them far worse places to live something needs sorting.
I’m not saying go round and batter druggies, but those two deserved it, as does any one else who behaves like that, some countries jail people of possession of drugs, enforced withdrawal works as well, here we give the ****ers methodone
What pubs do you see the attraction in? Some quaint little Hostelry in some tucked away Hamlet North of Driffield? Be realistic, what pubs would you frequent if you were in Hull City centre(or any City centre for that matter). When I go to Hull games I venture into Town and mostly drink in Ebenezers. You can't just change your lifestyle because some arseholes are doing what some arseholes do in most U.K city's?
I agree that Methadone isn't the answer,it's a lazy method of keeping drug users subdued. It costs us all taxes that could easily be put to better use. Our Country is broken and drugs have become a huge part of the problem,as for the answer,I wish I had one.
Do you honestly think they're choosing that lifestyle? Would you? It's an addiction - an illness, a series of bad decisions, influenced usually by tragedies in life, that has resulted in the situation they are in. That's not to say they should be ignored or accepted - antisocial behaviours have to be controlled and more money should go to social and care services to fund their care, the same as we fund any other illness or social care. Should smokers not be treated for lung cancer, illnesses related to eating disorders, job related illnesses, sport related accidents... All caused by what you describe as 'choice'. Our society will continue to get worse whilst support is removed for the weakest.
Sadly the way the heroine problem is heading and growing, any area in any City Centre will be fair game shortly... Even in small towns like Driffield, drugs are rife. It's taken over society.
That's exactly why I started the post with "What actually happened leading up to that?" I'd wager most on here had no idea about the background. We do now though, thanks. It still doesn't change the rest of the post .... "... What's really sad and pathetic is the number of people jeering them on and the number of people online laughing at it. What a society we've become. And another thing that Hull will now get taken the piss out of for." In a sense they got what they deserved. But that doesn't help anything or anyone, and, as others have said, carried a clear risk that the bloke dishing it out could have brought on himself serious unexpected consequences. Again as others have said, there's little to no excuse for behaviour like that from the druggies, but 'the system' and society is failing them. You are right, methadone for most is no answer. There has to be better ways, better solutions, likely involving much harsher approaches. Similar with knife crime, which our response to is a complete sick joke. Don't get me going on drug trade and who is now behind most of it (because it will only get the snowflakes & blind on here going into meltdown again). It could be made 'zero tolerance' literally overnight, if only the government (of what ever persuasion) cared enough and had enough common sense and balls,
Way to commonly recreational I'm afraid . The come down must be terrible I'm bad enough getting over having 6/7 pints .
Still ****ing funny with the woman lying on the floor, the scooter on top of her but still talking on the phone!
Hull city centre could probably do without the HDM picking up on it and posting it all over Hull Live, not a good way to advertise for decent folk to come into town and spend.
Wonder Woman and Bat Girl need to start behaving. I tried to resist, honestly. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Too late. And unfortunately no background story. https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/new...rm=&ruid=152049f3-ec71-4d50-a7c5-90c4ccdac2e2
Cry me a ****ing river, Davina McCall only today telling how she beat an heroin “addiction” how can you beat it if you are addicted? just an excuse for weakness, many of us have had tough upbringings, I decided not to be addicted to anything, I woke up one morning and decided to chuck smoking after 30 odd years, piss easy it was, never had one since. This country is too soft and treats druggies as though they can’t help it, **** em, give them free heroin
Mrs Two just asked me if you were off on one, I just laughed and she knew. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
I don't know her, but I assume 'beating an addiction' means overcoming it and seeing that there's a better life without it. Easier to do if you've got a loving family and something worth living for. The issue is that very few ppl intend to become drug addicts. It's not a choice many make. Usually, but not always, the minutes/hours under the influence are an escape from a bad reality and then physical and mental addiction kicks in and it's downhill. I can't change your opinion on here. But you can't beat addiction out of someone and both those two addicts are too far gone to take anything beneficial from getting attacked and run over in the street. The taxpayer will now fund the ambulance, A&E, care for the woman if she has a broken leg, pain relief, the court case, prison time for the man in the electric chair and a new front wheel for his chair. Would have been cheaper to have removed them from the situation hours earlier if resources were available. From my limited experience, the best way to beat addiction is to stop it before it starts and that involves volunteering, working with young adults from difficult backgrounds, doing sport or something and showing them your life experience and how you've made it to the point you could stop smoking in a day, then it gives them something to aim for. You might 'save' 5%, if lucky. Better than beating them up twenty years later.
