Anyone thinking of going for the fish and chips shouldn’t bother. Years ago it was brilliant but since it changed hands it has steadily gone downhill.

We often have a ride over to Wetwang for fish and chips, since since Deep Blue fisheries have taken over there I've found it to be as inconsistent as ****, rates from ''really good'' to ''take it back and complain about it'' - something we never did when it was an independent.

 

Is the subject of curry sauce allowed on this thread?

 

Recommend you take a short detour and call in at Stuarts in Driff (main street).

I use that place quite a bit on Saturdays and that's my experience too. Given up on it this season.

 

Wasn't it 'Harper's' before it was taken over by deep blue? Was always good years ago but it's dropped in standards nowadays..

White Horse Cafe in Thirsk is decent....Are we allowed to go that far???

 

It was Harpers, Ric - and was always good.

 

Harpers had the one near Scarborough as well which was always good.

 

As long as it's better than the 'Stuart's of Driffield' in Beverley which is poo

Wetwang did nice fish I remember driving out there in a Friday afternoon just for the fish

Don't bother. It must be cheaper booking a table at Cerutti's then buying fish and chips from there.
