I an not sure of which technology they use when determining when a ball has crossed the goal line.
Whether that technology could be used would maybe be better for offside.
There’s a sensor in the ball for that. I believe it sits centrally I’m the ball so the technology knows exactly, to the mm, where it needs to be.

The problem with this is the cameras in use are awful. They should’ve had sky heavily involved with the 4000 frames per second thing or similar. Or they should say, when there are mms involved, that it’s on field decision which matters.

It does make me wonder Roochie, but l am quite cyincal. There is a saying
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it. VAR really hasn't worked from day one, but there doesn't seem to be a will to fix it.

Years ago when you were offside when you received the ball, was easy. The change was then made too the present, when the ball is kicked.
Better for the attacking team, but difficult for the officials.
VAR, should make that easier, but still shrouded in mystery.

My cynical side is saying, when is the betting scam breaking news coming.

never really taken a huge interest in the adverts around the ground on the televised games but there do seem to be a lot of 'gambling names' getting a high profile...not sure if it happened or not but seem to remember a bit of a push to get 'gambling names' off players shirts yet there those names are in full view so that last line of yours could be a lot closer than we think.

said for years they should simplify the rules, mainly hand ball and offside.

if a player is in a clear offside position then the call is offside, none of this 'not interfering' or 'second/next phase' rubbish...he.she is offside and the game stops for a free kick.

hand ball, as i remember it was always 'if a player uses his arm/hand to control or deflect the ball it is an offence', and this 'natural position' bollox has made it even worse, if he/she moves an arm/hand to the ball it is a free kick/penalty.

'was there any intent' in the tackle...well as far as i am concerned if a player leaps in with feet high there is intent, slide tackles were a good part of the game and fair when timed right and rarely made to 'hurt a player' when they are timed wrong it is an offence, simple.

too many rule changes, too much confusion...also, wtf is going on with this 'apologies if you heard any bad language' bollox, it is a football match, there will be bad language if you dont want to hear it then dont watch.

Spurs player flagged offside
He was on side why have they changed the way they raise the flag
I thought they let play go on if not sure
Ederson was injured last night after play going on when a mag player was offside. Wonder if the refs have had a rethink because of that.

Because they can't play a full Premier league season with the same rules they started with. They always **** about with them, it's almost like they are incompetent.

Howard Webb being in charge of it all is the biggest piss take. He gave the same player 2 yellows and didn't send him off iirc.

Bring back Paul Dirkin.

Graham Poll was the two yellows with no red

Howard gave a yellow to De Jong for a kung fu kick in the World Cup Final. Showed 13 yellows and a red caus ehe never had control of the game. Shocking official!!

Aye that was it. Knew there was something he did in a big game.

I know he went off injured but how serious was it and has anything been mentioned about how long he could be out? Would be a big blow to City to lose him for a decent period.

Not seen anything either but yeah if he's out for a while it could be a title deciding moment

Same thing happened to City with John Stones a little while back. It does need to change like.

Godfrey broke his leg for Everton in a blatant offside which was given when the ball went out! (He’s a dirty bastard anyhow but still)
