The authorities have destroyed football as we knew it, bit by bit, trying to improve a game that didn't need improving, just so that they can say that they did it . . . . stupid bastards <doh>

I’d love to know who they polled when they mentioned most fans were in favour of VAR, no doubt that was a very specific targeted audience.

There are so many things they could do to improve VAR and reduce the number of controversial decisions like:

Limit the number of times each team can use it, similar to NFL. This could also have a knock on effect and reduce the cheating, managers would go ballistic if they used one of their VAR’s but it bit them in the arse as a player dived.

Reduce the time allowed for a VAR decision, if they can’t decide in x minutes the on field decision stands.

But no, they now come up with another stupid idea that will cause more arguments over what is dissent etc. Its an absolute joke

On the subject of blue cards, what happens when all players surround the ref? Do they all get a blue card?

Is a cynical foul on the last man a blue card now or a red card? I get that dissent needs to be stamped out but again there are other things that can be done first.

My thoughts are ditch var and stick the blue card where it doesn't shine.
Make offside be when there is clear daylight between the attacker and defender.
Revert to original handball rule where it is handball if you deliberately move your hand to ball.
FA review referee performances and issue findings.

    Far too sensible.

They should bring the 6 second rule back for keepers as well. Some of the **** that went on against us in league one was horrific.

Is it now not classed as a deliberate foul for a penalty to be given
Attacker comes from behind wraps his leg around the defender then falls

Like I say at the outset
    Only goal line technologies
And the ref now has that on his watch

Var may as well be scrapped
Because the people behind the scenes make different decisions for the same offence
It’s basically only used by the laser for offsides the rest is just interpretation and that should be up to the ref

What pisses me off is that it was brought in because the officials are not good enough but somehow these clowns continue to butcher decisions despite having unlimited angles and time to get to the right call. I’d keep it for offsides because that’s definitive (even though they’ve ****ed some of them up too) but the constant breaks in play just for them to make the wrong call anywhere makes it not worthwhile.

I’d rather have former players or coaches in the VAR booth than these idiot referees.

Just read that VAR is coming to the championship next season, not sure if true
