Why do you keep saying this with some pretence of authority? He played wide at Liverpool and did at Fulham too on occasion.
I think this may well be why he didn’t get too much of a look in at Liverpool because they don’t really play with a 10 and they have so many other options across the front three.

The Twine slander is ridiculous, he’s been playing out of position where normally our best player is, think people need to lower their expectations, he’s not going to do what Philogene does.

He’s an absolute work horse and an intelligent player that is obviously trusted by the manager, I feel like he’ll improve even more once he has better players around him too. 7 goal involvements so far is not bad at all.

He’s that trusted the manager has recently dropped him and now replaced him.

Both of whom can and do (did) regularly take their player on!!.
Barmby was playing in a very different team & system.
Twine just isn't suited to that role, but Rosenior rightly or wrongly has felt the need to play (waste) him out wide.

He famously coached them not to. Both became functional, less exciting players. Grealish in particular got a lot of stick as a result, but they won the treble with him playing on the left and often just passing it back inside after receiving it. That said, this season he's signed Doku and largely favoured him over Grealish, with the former constantly running at people. So it's complicated I suppose!

He’s a creative midfielder and the main thing he’s praised for is work rate. I watched him a fair bit at Mk Dons and know what he’s capable of. That often involved being in wide areas where he finds himself a lot for us. He’s not going to start ahead of Tufan centrally, Tufan has better passing range, physicality and finishing ability. So if he can’t contribute from the area of the pitch by which he’s only going to get minutes playing in, what’s the point?

Also I don’t think we have a single lazy player on our books at the minute apart from maybe Lokilo everyone seems willing to wear their heart on their sleeves for us so it’s hardly a good selling point for him.

No I don’t think so, I’m not even sure he can, but I expect he will see far less of the pitch.

Unless he’s Rosey’s answer to the right wing.

I'd assume we'll be bringing in a right winger. Honestly think we need a squad capable of providing a couple of different options in most areas tbh.

Tufan isnt going to be playing 90 mins game in game out.

If we analyse his game outside of the goals though, I mean the Rotherham one was already going in he just finished it off, a penalty that he didn’t win, a free kick which is supposedly his speciality. Was plenty of criticism on here for Tufan (myself included) for not contributing if he doesn’t score. And I think Twine also falls into that category

2 assists were simple passes that the goal scorer made a superb solo effort for too.

Assist v Birmingham simple pass to Philogene in our own half who then went and ran half the pitch, skinned 3 defenders and smashed it into the bottom corner.

Assist v Bristol city a 2 yard pass to Connolly at the edge of the box who then went back tracking through the box and hit that brilliant shot on the turn.

The assist v West Brom was a great cross to Coyle at the back post.

With the backing LR's seemingly getting this window, I suspect hard questions will be asked if we're not in the top 6 come the end of the season.

There's no place for sentiment, we need to be picking up points and we need to drop the deadwood; Christie, Vinagre, Lokilo, Traore, Twine. None of them have rose to the challenge and I suspect we'll see replacements for all this window. Replace them and ship them out. The likes of Vaughan and Jacob have shown they're more than capable backups.
Vaughan is not a capable back up ffs

It shouldn't be. This is what puzzles me. He's seen outside of Hull as a serious attacking talent who we did extremely well to land, and his 7 goal involvements to date shows he's not just a workhorse.

I agree with your point that being on the wing shouldn't be an excuse for him, but I don't think he's been bad there. He's not an explosive winger, but that isn't the only type of wide player that can be valuable, and like a lot of things, I'm sure people used to accept that much more readily than people do now.
