But, but, but ... we're making progress! 4 defeats in 6!! He's a bit stumped without Philogene to bail him out, bar the Cardiff performance which was excellent and I hoped marked some sort of turning point, but it didn't.

He seems to be increasingly getting out-thought by opposition managers, largely because we're so predictable (and boring) , and he's so inflexible & fixated on his way, irrespective of who we have available.

I really don’t agree with this at all. We’re in a as run of form at the moment but even in these last 6 games we’ve shown that the team is willing to adapt when a game isn’t going as we expected.

Middlesbrough, we played a cannier and different game in the second half and managed to grind out a win. Even in the Sunderland game, whilst it was a disappointing finish - he changed it to bring Delap more central and getting Lokilo and Morton to run at their left hand side.

The speed of play is different to what we were doing at the start of the season. He may be getting other things wrong but there are things changing in front of us.

It’s not like McCann when we played the same tactics every week despite going on that run when we got relegated.

Anyway, back to the game. I think Rosenior has a tough job picking a starting lineup. I personally think our squad depth is fine, I’m struggling who to leave out!

I would consider dropping Seri and let Morton do his role. Morton turns on the ball and is more positive. This would speed up our attacks. We need to go for this one. As people have mentioned, if we lose, confidence will plummet.

Even after consideration, I would ensure Delap is central and Connolly starts too. If that means Connolly is on the wing, so be it. At least he will be positive with the ball. If it means going 2 central up front, I wouldn’t complain. Time to be brave.
When does the AFCON start, players fly out etc...?

The bigger worry might be... Philo out until the end of January, how quickly would he be up to speed and will he be drip fed back in...

To me, we were undone because the opposition manager came with a plan to nullify our way of playing. By putting four in line in front of our back four and not going for a hard press, they let us have the ball across our back four and we struggled to get beyond them. On the few occasions that we did they mostly had two players converge on the man with the ball and snuffed out the play. On the even fewer occasions that we got near or into their penalty area, we fluffed our lines or they got a block in or a save. Yes, had one of those gone in it might have been different but we have to figure out how to overcome teams that just want to stop us playing and catch us on the break.

I totally agree, they put the 4 across the front line, which is a bit similar to the Doncaster game where they man marked us, which kept the ball very much in our back line.

Not sure but first game in AFCON is January 13th. I imagine the first one they’ll miss is Norwich (H). Possibly FA cup game the week before.

Players have to be released on Jan 1st, so we probably won't have Seri or Traore for the Wednesday game, unless we're requested an extra day before they leave.

Moving Delap to the middle is the easy decision, it’s his natural position however for me he causes problems from anywhere. The harder part who plays left and right. Does he drop Connolly after a poor performance last time out, does he move him out wide but he’s not a winger. Does he give Twine another chance when it’s not his natural position. Both were in affective. Does he bring in young Harry who looks intelligent on the ball but his weakness is not been strong enough defensively helping his left back out. On the right not the same choice so does he bring Lokilo in and hope he has a good game. He could even go two down the middle but I doubt it. Does he stick with the same formation and give them another chance?
after sorting out the right flank that only needs the left flank and centre to sort out

So how. Many of the excess goals conceded recently have come from left and centreand been carbon copies of themselves? Pray tell?
