This really has to be a must win game if we have any designs on getting in the play off's. This and the Wednesday game we need to get 6 points, or confidence will start to be affected.

I would go with Greaves as left back and Macca in. which generally works okay, I just hope Coyle is fit and at RB.

I thought 8th-6th. Still do but that could easily become a 5th to a 10th depending on the second half of the season.

Just as long as we finish better than 14th, as some of our most vocal gobshytes were predicting in August, but now seem entitled to think we're a promotion side... <laugh>

No it isnt. If we lose we'll still be 3 points off with half a season to play - though a third defeat would clearly be a disappointment and hard to take.

I agree about Greaves and Macca though. I'd also start Slater on the right. Bring Lokilo on if we have to chase the game late on - but he's been a liability in terms of defensive shape since coming back. For all that he offers a bit of impetous and natural width going forward - we could be 2 down from 2 switchoffs at half time if he starts.

I was saying confidence will start to be affected if we lose 3 on the trot, once you get into a rut of losing it can get a habit, then any chances of a playoff place become harder.

I'm not seeing any significant drop off in general performances personally. Though I am about to start the sunlun' game on tigers plus so that might change my mind if we really did create less than them.

Problem we have at the moment is having a right flank that's as leaky as a seive.

Sort that, and that alone then we probably get a result. That's what's cost us 7 points in 6 games. Conceding carbon copies from the right flank.

No need to **** the bed, no need to go back to the drawing board. Just sort that issue that no one on here had previously identified as a problem (just randomly spouting off about everything else) and we'll start picking up points again.

That simple. Keep it in perspective.

Recon this will be a draw or a narrow win.

Blackburn are more of a shambles than us at the moment.

Seen the mackems defeat replay now they did something different to usual. They played 4 up top for a lot of it out of posession to lock us playing out. We played our usual front 3 and for all the attacking intent, a single, soft goal decided it.

**** first half but we still worked their keeper and created more overall in the 90.

Also watched the Sunderland reactions and spoke to some of them now too, and they accept they scored against the run of play when they did, though I couldnt argue if they went ahead in the first half they wouldn't have deserved it.

I've backed city 2-1 for Blackburn. There we go. Locked in. For all city are flawed and inconsistent, so are the sides around us.

Was it just me that found it mildly amusing that Dack the Twatter gobshite finally got his game at the MKM on Boxing Day that he desperately seemed to want the other day

dont forget to look at the clauses in the contract!
there's more to a contract than the number of years remaining

Moving Delap to the middle is the easy decision, it’s his natural position however for me he causes problems from anywhere. The harder part who plays left and right. Does he drop Connolly after a poor performance last time out, does he move him out wide but he’s not a winger. Does he give Twine another chance when it’s not his natural position. Both were in affective. Does he bring in young Harry who looks intelligent on the ball but his weakness is not been strong enough defensively helping his left back out. On the right not the same choice so does he bring Lokilo in and hope he has a good game. He could even go two down the middle but I doubt it. Does he stick with the same formation and give them another chance?

It would have been no surprise if we’d drawn or won the Sunderland game 1-0. Fine margins. They’re a playoff seeking side like us.

Not a lot in it. I can’t see him changing much.

On this day in 2007 we had 34 points from 24 games and were 11th in the Championship. Perhaps we should have sacked Phil Brown.

But, but, but ... we're making progress! 4 defeats in 6!! He's a bit stumped without Philogene to bail him out, bar the Cardiff performance which was excellent and I hoped marked some sort of turning point, but it didn't.

I don't go quite as far as those comments, but I agree in that he's inexperienced and yet has somehow got a glowing reputation that he simply doesn't deserve and hasn't earned (I guess you could sort of interpret that as a 'fraud'). A lot of the reason for that is simply because he's eloquent, although as said it's often BS. He seems to be increasingly getting out-thought by opposition managers, largely because we're so predictable (and boring) , and he's so inflexible & fixated on his way, irrespective of who we have available.

I want him to succeed but I remain unconvinced and indifferent. I'm sure he'll be well supported, once again, in this coming window and we'll move forward. The unknowns are whether or not a better, more experienced manager would be getting more from the squad and from the support in the transfer windows, and whether or not over time he actually earns the reputation that he's somehow been gifted. I really don't know, but, like his teams, he mostly frustrates the hell out of me.

No you don't, stop the charade and just say you want him out. At least Steverico is honest in his feelings.

I don't disagree with what you say, I thought against Sunderland we were below the level we have been playing before, not by much, but enough to make the difference.

I have highlighted before that really the last 3 goals have been caused by Christie's inability to defend when a player cuts inside, if Coyle had not been injured the outcome may have been different.

Generally, my point before was that I just feel if we did lose the game tomorrow, then confidence through the team could be affected.

Just stop and think for one minute.
I'm one of only a few posters who says stuff on here that goes against the grain of the majority. Not just on this.
I say what I feel. If I wanted him out full stop I would say that I wanted him out.
Don't tell me what I want or what I'm thinking, or that I'm dishonest thanks.

Funny season this. The style is boring/frustrating/error prone. We lose a few we could have taken points from yet are 7th which we all would have taken season start.
Genuinely don’t know what to think. Win the next 2 and it all changes. Win neither of the next 2 and we could be mid table.
    Bloody confused all round.
