The players looked motivated this time which was almost as good as the win

With the lads being so young, getting them fired up is key to consistently winning games which to me was the basis of Mowbray’s success

You have to tune out of the Beale out or Beale isnt the answer brigade. They are guessing, simple as that, and are turning themselves into whatever good happens isnt down to him. It is a bizare mindset. Same folk would have had some 30 odd year old from france with much less experience or know how. That fella could have lost to Cov and the narrative would have been Dodds fault and today would have been masterclass. In the UK at the minute fans are seduced by overseas coaches, without much evidence, so Beale is way too dull for some. I cant stand Allardyce, but he was right about the stupidity of the argument we arent progressive coaches.

Beale wasn't my first choice but once chosen he will get my full support. However, based upon your comments above, who would have been your choice (one that we had a chance of getting)?

listened to his post match interview, no bull, no buzz just straightforward accurate assessment. of the game. I'm happy with that. Apparently he speaks Spanish and Portuguese. He's coached/managed in England, Scotland and Brazil so his CV ain't bad either. I believe he may be. the bloke who'll take us to the next level

You won't hear from them until the next game we lose.

That statement, in itself, is highly hypocritical. How many managers do you know who have had a record of success in a brief role? I know you likely won’t reply as we won today!

    It’s a false statement.

He has managed once in the championship previously. He had QPR pushing for promotion and impressed Wolves so much they offered him a job in the premier league.

He was a big success at QPR. No idea what this guy is talking about.

    Great result yesterday tbf.

Personally I'd have looked at Robins, solksjaer and Cooper if they'd had word he was on the edge at forest. Main thing is a bit of confidence should be back.

I honestly hope that you are right, and I'm wrong.

Apart from being a fan of Tony Mowbray, my first impressions of our new Manager were not good, admittedly based only on a short item on TV.
MY problem was that my memory went back, instantly to Howard Wilkinson.
    I don't know why, but I couldn't shake t off.

    It was un-nerving.

Totally agree. I think that KS has taken the same approach as the player recruitment model. He's gone for a head coach who was not on the 'manager circuit', who will learn and grow with the team.

Sure, he will make mistakes like Pep does from time to time, but I think he will be a success, given time.

It may be a weakness of mine but I have huge respect for every coach / manager. I dislike some, and love others, but I respect them all. It is a ridiculously difficult job to do.

So when Wilkinson was appointed I was shocked like never before. But I knew enough to know he deserved respect. I didnt like him, although I did like Cotteril, but I went out of my way to try to convince folk it was a good appointment. Then I left the Charlton game before half time and sat in the Howard Arms with others who had left, and even I couldnt see much hope.

Beale comea with references galore. He has worked in Brazil, as well as some big clubs in this country. He is a football obsessive and for all of those reasons I think over time he will progress the club and the first team.

KLD has invested time, effort and money into the club with the intention, as it is with every club, to reach the PL ... the financial reward is enormous.

So I really can't understand how anyone could believe the owner is penny pinching and happy to tread water in this league ...

... seriously what would be the point of that, it just wouldn't make any sense.

Yes he's treading carefully but clubs like Reading, Derby, etc, show how easy it is to fall through the ice.

Admittedly, I was one the very few on here that wanted shot of Mowbray in the summer. His record pretty much told us we had peak Mowbray and I thought we wouldn’t progress anymore with him and I don’t think we did, tbh. He done a great job while he was here and we should always be grateful for him but he had hit a brick wall and the change was absolutely needed.

Beale has shown he can be a top manager in this division. Not sure why people aren’t taking to him.

I really don’t understand how this ‘penny pinching’ narrative has permeated into our fans’ consciousness so effectively. It’s spouted as generally accepted fact now (even by people/posters I’d consider to be quite well informed and reasonable) despite their being so much evidence to the contrary. We’ve got a sizeable proportion of our fanbase wanting KLD to sell up now ffs.

It’s just lunacy to me considering the change for good he’s implemented since coming in. Our ‘fanzines’ and ‘fan’ podcasts have a lot to answer for mind. The hysteria and group think around the Beale appointment has been shameful and embarrassing. If Beale (and KLD and Speakman) is a success then I’d like to think they’d be contrite and be more considered and measured in their reactions to things in future but we know that won’t be the case.

Very difficult job to judge tbh , exactly the same things were said about Bielsa at Leeds, its all about time, and luck.

i honestly cannot understand how people have forgotten the clubs very recent past, not like it is written down in history somewhere for people to research if they wanted to, it all happened a few short years ago and should be easy for any supporter to recall...vividly.

if 'penny pinching' leads to the club being able to hold it's own in the premier league and still keep slowly improving with the added input of the finishing position money then i am happy to sit and wait, the 'little clubs' are letting the rest know that they are no longer there just to make the numbers up and i hope that continues and we can join them soon.
