I'd never heard a manager speak until Stokoe and had no idea who the owners were ... ... people nowadays want to know which school the manager went to and what his grades were. Bob Shankly would've told them to grow up or f**k off.
I understand developing a dislike for a person based on what they say, but surely not how they say it.
Do you believe Beale was first choice? We’re fighting for a play-off spot so we’re obviously doing better, for now.
still was first choice and i believe it was all very close to being done even to the point of compensation agreed , but the club wouldn't budge on the back room staff , Kjetil Knutsen was also someone else we were in talks with, but same problem, once beales time with us up by moving to a different club after doing well or being sacked, dodds will be are next gaffer
Clear as day Beale was never first choice. It would’ve been done earlier if that was the case. He’s just a yes man imo and will fail here. We’ll see.
Yes. The likes of Still wanted the club to abandon their principles, sack the coaches and allow them to have a say in signings ... ... the club wanted someone to fit their plans, not bring in their own.
I agree that MB was never first choice, otherwise he would have been in the seat a lot sooner. I just hope that he hits the ground running and brings success to our club.
That's what we need though. We need full alignment from top to bottom. Neil didn't want to be a yes man, so he left and now he's unemployed. A yes man is exactly what is needed.
Would you prefer a 'No man' who believes he knows better than everyone else at the club ... ... serious question.
Just look at the facts Neil when given players to work with by Speakman = success Neil when in charge of recruitment at stoke = failure Mowbray when in charge of recruitment at Blackburn = best finish 8th, along with an 11th and two 15th finishes. Mowbray when given players to work with by Speakman = 6th
I'd defend it too. Certainly in the coaching choice. What would be the point of doing otherwise? But as for seeing how they go. The same would apply to anyone. I know sod all about most of them, but whoever is the manager, or coach is the club's guy, which means he's our guy as well. They bloke had to get a lot wrong before that changes. A lot.
