So they've interviewed everyone on their wanted list and either couldn't get them or didn't want them, so had a quick look and said oh Beale that was at Rangers hasn't got a job, we'll give it to him

It could be that, though the contract length suggests otherwise. I was surprised at that as well.

But not being the " first pick" is entirely irrelevant. It's him and the team now. And most of us will have both of their backs.

Yeah me too. I think a load are. Its rare you see such vitriol across all forms of media, multiple platforms. Mostly saying the same thing, poor appointment and wont last the contract length.

really hope he proves us wrong and is a success but, its really hard to see so many unbiased reports saying this is a poor appointment and will wear thin quickly.

Sadly it's becoming all too frequent and often at the drop of a hat ...

... thankfully the home and away crowds will continue to support their club, come what may ...

... despite being accused of accepting, and therefore being responsible for, mediocrity.

Well that’s that done. Let’s get on with the football. Whether we wanted him or not he’s here the club have made the decision. I don’t know enough about him to say whether it’s the right decision or not but he and the players will have my full support as always. Let’s get on with it and let’s get back to winning ways.
Wasn’t my first choice but neither was Mowbray. Failed as a “manager” at rangers but here he will be head coach and he is supposed to be a very good coach and with dodds as his number 2. Good luck to him

Correct. We go , we shout, we support, we have a beer, we twist a bit, we celebrate.

That's all it is, all it can be. And there is no reason to suppose that it will be any diffent this weekend. It won't be for me!

Just explained the situation to the Mrs who is a psychologist. She's very much of the opinion that if he's even half aware of the negativity it will have a massive impact on him. After that depends on his character. Growth mindset or fixed mindset.

I'm not a psychologist and pointed out how much he will probably be getting paid, what he must be expecting joining a club like Sunderland and how if he's worth his salt it should drive him on.

Apparently it doesn't work like that, time will tell :emoticon-0158-time:
Also, if he wins 2 games he'll be worshiped.

Looking at this handy guide, I’d say he’s 100% growth mindset. He started his journey at a very low point in football, as an apprentice told he wasn’t good enough to play professionally.

He responded by buying a Futsal franchise.

He was inspired by the success of Stevie G or was absolutely crackers because he took the Rangers job.

Hopefully learning from feedback is the other one <laugh>

Won’t lie I feel underwhelmed with this appointment and concerned with the negativity of our fans and the fans of clubs that have seen him in action. That being said it’s irrelevant now he’s here, got my backing 100% and looking forward to seeing what he does with this squad.

The positive I’m going to take from his interview is that his failures at rangers sound like they came from areas he had little experience and didn’t particularly want to be involved in. You’d expect here his going to be in charge of one thing only and that’s the coaching side, the area he’s got all his praise and credit in.

2.5 years surprises me, that sees him to the end of KLD/speakmans first 5 years which is the point they want us in the premier league, so they think he’s the man to get us there. Big risk from them so they must have confidence it will work so I’ll take confidence from that. Fingers crossed for 3 points on Saturday and the perfect start for him
