Fair to assume Dodds will be on charge for the Bristol game now

I can't see us getting Still like. Seems too much of a chew on with Reims' owners.

This article suggests that Reims' owners are pissed off that he's set up a meeting with us, but it also states that he's said he doesn't want to come to Sunderland.

    “I have a dream”
I’ve heard enough, I don’t want to hear about peoples dreams

    “one small step for man”
I’ve heard enough, that looks like a big step to me.

“I’m sorry, but I don’t want to be an emperor. That’s not my business”
I’ve heard enough, needs to man up and be the emperor !

<cheers> I mean this post as gently ribbing by the way.

    It's all conjecture

If Still and KLD had a meeting, then safe to say both parties are interested. The rest is background noise

It says he set the meeting up via his agent and proposed his plan to get us back to the PL

Worst case scenario we just give it to MD. That's not a bad worst case scenario as it stands.
Just worried that like what happens with most caretaker managers you quickly regret it.

Thanks marra. I'm wondering if people are so desperate they don't want to hear any negative noise <laugh>

I think KLD and his board are more savvy than previous regimes. KLD has some serious names on the board, we aren't the Clown School we were under Madrox

Stop calling fans discussing things on a discussion forum “desperate” ffs :D. It’s fair enough you’ve made your mind up on him from one sentence. It’s the trolling after it which is fecking annoying and frankly so unlike you.

And beyond. He'll get the job. Awesome succession planning by SAFC.

"Stay true to our vision" by sacking the head coach to employ the first team coach. Fab.

MERCATO: REIMS IRRITATED BY WILL STILL'S DOUBLE GAME

In charge of Reims, Will Still has approached the directors of Sunderland, who no longer have a coach. And it didn't go down well in Champagne...

Frying on the line between Will Still and Stade de Reims. While he had enjoyed a flawless popularity with the fans of the City of Coronations, the recent actions of the young Belgian coach - who met with the directors of Sunderland in the English D2 - have had the gift of annoying the red and white supporters as can be seen on social networks. The club's management also didn't take this English getaway well...

A first misstep to be blamed on youth? At only 31 years old, Will Still is the youngest coach in Europe's top 5 and has a very bright future ahead of him, as he has been working miracles for months at Reims, 8th in Ligue 1 (with the same number of points as Marseille, 6th, but a much less reputable squad). But it was he who approached Sunderland via his agent Alex Hayes. The two sides even met in London, where Will Still, a Belgian-born Englishman, was able to lay out his plan to get the Back Cats back to the Premier League. Even if the young coach defended himself by explaining that he did not want to sign in the north of England, the management did not take this English getaway well.

A clause to leave next summer
Is it a way to put pressure on his management before an important winter transfer window to keep the Stade de Reims competitive or a first hiccup before the definitive break?

Admittedly, Will Still is not the favourite for the Sunderland job at all. Nevertheless, the Reims management has been preparing since the beginning of the season to say goodbye to its coach next June. The Belgian-British also included in his contract when he extended his contract last June the possibility of leaving Reims in the summer of 2024.

I think it was the number of people wanting to challenge my opinion that's the problem. Couldn't accept my view on things...

It’s a strange one like I know it’s good have these managers linked now and last summer but means bot all if we can’t get them over the line.

Yes Dodds has done well but it’s two games and we know his strengths lie with player development. We need and out and out coach that’s an improvement on Mowbray otherwise like you say it’s all been for nothing.

The only negative noise is coming from you man, and it's completely baseless. You don't like someone because you've misunderstood about 10 words he's said. You're either the most fickle person alive, or you're on a windup. I'm convinced you're just taking the piss to be honest :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Yeah, you're 100% on a windup and you've reeled in about 10 of us. Fair play.
