It is weird that when ppl are being genuinely anti-Semitic the usual response is, you can be critical of Israel but there's no place for anti-Semitism (which I agree with).

Then when ppl ARE critical of Israel, it gets labelled as anti-Semitic <laugh>

I'd love to hear David Baddiel's thoughts on this <whistle>

The irony of Natanyahu shouting 'Anti-Semite!' and then cozying up to the likes of actual Nazi's like Victor Orban

<laugh>

I'm busying building that oven today, so got to get my comments in quick
<laugh>

I’ve looked at this thread all morning thinking about what to write but nah, I’m bored with it. Going to look up on how Ukraine are doing and will report back on that. I prefer that war anyway.

For the majority I’m sure you’re right but there’s a sizeable minority using it to have a pop at non-Israeli Jews or for their political ends. Less so here but it’s getting closer if people are painting stars on French homes. I’ve grown my beard and carry a small copy of the Quran at all times.

There are a fringe from what I can see but they are very much the minority. I'll tell you what I find distasteful and abhorrent which you've touched on. Less to do with the marches and more the incidents of fck nuggets driving through places like Hendon intimidating jewish communities. Thick as fck ****s (no doubt all muslims) who are actually part of the problem and a reason why the palestinian cause gets hindered. I'd love for someone to beat the **** out of them tbh.

Just change your morning Shalom into a morning Salam and you'll be safe as houses

I'm pretty sure that on here we all pretty much want the same thing, which is for these nutters to stop killing innocent people.

If only the leaders involved would debate it as much as we do on here <laugh>

There's genuine anti-semitism and racism and then there's the smokescreen of anti-semitism labelled against any criticism of Israel and its actions.

Netanyahu uses/abuses that term all of the time, lashing out with anti-semitism accusations against anybody who dares to criticise his regime.

He even called the International criminal court anti semitic when they've tried to investigate Israel's war crimes in the West Bank. And he's labelled individuals and organisations that boycott Israeli products anti semitic.

Doesn't stop him cosying up to actual anti-semites though if they help him maintain power.

He's full of **** and so are the people who band that term around whenever Israel's actions are questioned.

Welshie’s not that imo but you’re not far off

Indeed. People were out celebrating the evening of Oct 7th which I don’t think happened here immediately after 9/11 but I was a kid so could be wrong. Not a significant number but it understandably scares a lot of people. My mate has cancelled a weekend away in case something goes down here and he needs to get home to his kids. People are taking their kids out of school or just not dressing as they would normally.

I’m pretty safe from it as I don’t look jewish, if you didn’t know me you’d assume I could handle myself and I’m not in North London but if you’re an old woman plodding around Golders Green right now you feel vulnerable.

I can't speak for those out celebrating on Oct 7th, I can only tell you what I thought on the day (and therefore think what others thought at the time) that it was remarkable Hamas had managed to breach the wall and were taking (what I thought at the time) as the fight to the IDF. If you look back at my posts at the start of this latest conflict they reflect that. It was only the next day when news came out of the horrific actions against civilians, then nobody in their right mind could justify any of it.

Instead, however some have decided to double down and try to claim it never happened which is equally stupid and offensive.

What the Jewish ppl in the UK are feeling is unacceptable. I don't think trying to divide ppl like this government has been doing is going to help though.

Think it’s a fair point that of all the horrible **** going on in the world it’s a jewish state reacting to 1400 being killed, babies in ovens and girls raped and paraded in the streets that provokes Russians to go on a pogrom and 100,000 wet bellends march through London.

It doesn’t mean in itself that Israel is blameless but where’s the similar heat for Sudan, Yemen, the Muslims in China etc? Hard to conclude anti-semitism isn’t a bit of a factor.

Russia has a long history with this **** tbh. There’s a world of difference between a rioting crowd of Russians looking for stray Israelis, and a peaceful sit-down protest at Liverpool Street station.

That’s not to downplay the spectre of anti-Semitism (and Islamaphobia) being on the rise across Europe though, the U.K. included. This is a time that calls for cool heads and compassion across all religious, ethnic and political divides; so expect the opposite.

The Finsbury Park Frumers all look pretty relaxed though.

Yeah was thinking that the other day as I was walking through Leather Lane/Hatton Garden. Frummers just cracking on and selling overpriced diamonds as always. It’s my more secular mates with kids who are getting hysterical and taking their mezzuzas down. I get around this by not bothering to have a mezzuza.

You need to filter mate, I've tried reading through the pages, but a lot of it is just the same regurgitated shhite, so my filters are, Pinkie skim straight pass, Abe on ignore and Trebs only gets my attention at x y x.
