Hezbollah have exchanged fire with Israelis in the North. It's ramping up. If Hezbollah fully commit against Israel I could see the US joining in, at least with supplies etc. Hezbollah are very, very well equipped.
The billions Biden paid to Iran are being well spent it seems. All this happening with the weakest American President for decades too.
And their hands tied up in Ukraine...it's no coincidence that whilst the world battles Russia their eyes will be off what is going on in other regions of the world. Hamas have prepared well for this, but their methods have been so over the top that they have bought on a lot of this on themselves. If they'd just attacked military targets their cause on the international stage would be seen in a better light, but mindless slaughter of innocents detracts from the message. The Israeli response is exactly what you'd expect though, and is also abhorent. There's a very big risk involved here, if Israel get enough proof against Iran and it escalates there is potential for something very catastrophic to happen. Israel has nukes, and one can only guess how far along the Iranians are with their weapons program.....
Thought about it. Still in the “**** ‘em” camp even after the gym which usually makes me less aggy and more sympathetic.
A ground invasion into Gaza is a lose/lose for Netanyahu Col. IDF fatalities, CNN footage of massacred children and no hostages recovered = total failure. Plays totally into Hamas hands plus don't forget Hezzbollah stated warning any invasion = escalation in the North. You also have to understand that Hezzbollah are 100x more armed and prepared than Hamas. Israel will not beat them in any conventional sense So, for now a blockade/siege and constant bombing Now hamas have stated that for each Israeli bombing without a prior warning, they will kill a hostage in return. Netanyahu in a cycle of impossibly bad choices
When and it will, reach to a negotiation stage, expect Hamas to request a price Israel can never pay - an independent and free Palestine on Israeli lands plus Israel blocked from the Al Aqsa mosque. The name of the Hamas offensive - Operation Al Aqsa Flood Clearly this is the pivot point - no more mere prisoner exchanges I'm expecting the hostages to be held for a long time Already the UN and EU got their knickers in a twist over how to respond to the Israeli siege and its going to get very messy But a land invasion into Gaza is a one way ticket to complete chaos Iran is far more aligned with Hezzbollah and PIJ than Hamas. Al Quds Brigades took responsibility for the incursions in North Israel today, that's a serious statement and escalation
He didn't pay billions to Iran. That's just MAGA bollocks. How is he the weakest President they've had for decades?
Can only hope China don't decide to invade Taiwan, thinking America has its hands full elsewhere. The world is getting nasty.
Even if President Raisi of Iran abides by that - and he's already said, Iran will spend it as it pleases - it frees up other funds to use for malign purposes.
Interesting article by William Hague today: 1. He rules out a two state solution. John Kerry of the US pushed Israel and Palestine to the limits 10 years ago. It fell on its face because the diverse Palestine factions could not agree, and in the meantime, Israel refused to stop building settlement on the West Bank. 2. On the bigger picture, the interest of Arab nations in Palestine Victimhood is fading. Self-interest, in commerce, is taking over. They are moving on. The global economy is changing. Wealthy Arab states are interested in innovation, high-tech security and AI. They want peace around them, and are prepared to co-operate with Israel to stay ahead of Iran. Trade including tourism is booming between Israel, and Dubai and UAE. And now Saudi Arabia wants in. There can be no better reason for Iran to chuck a stick in the spokes of the wheel. Netanyahu must remember this and not allow revenge attacks to be excessive.
