We've not forgiven Norwich for 1976, you think we'll get over this in 24 hours !!!!

Was reading the wiki page of that season during a particularly awful part of the Arsenal game. Four games to potentially winning the league and only 24000 in the crowd. Where were you all?

What we'd give to have an average crowd of 24000 these days..... lowest attendance of 17000 is now a full house, but then 31000 cramed in like sardines for the last game of the season against Leeds, health and safety didn't exist back then....

Even your own extremely biased commentary team had to admit that Sunderland should have had a penalty and had a perfectly good goal disallowed. They failed to admit that the throw in that resulted in your goal resulted from a blatant push in the back that should have resulted in a free kick to us. Without the refs crazy decision in your favour we would have scored five. And you are surely not trying to say that the sending off was not a red.

Well genius, if you get the free kick before the throw in the rest of the game changes and you maybe lose. You can't just take an isolated event out of the game and assume that the rest continues to play out as it did. Take your win and bugger off.

Missing the point completely. The free kick not given along with the perfectly good goal not given and also the stonewall penalty not given are just a few examples of the ref giving decisions in your favour.

No one cares any more. Go away.

You can't seriously believe that ref was even handed?? The red was a red, no argument with that but he was so inconsistent with other stuff. Simply awful. Also, I am not sure when the not surrounding the ref rule is actually going to be enforced. The ref was very easily influenced. I have no complaint with the result or the red or indeed Sunderland, who are a good team but that was a shocking display from the ref. The sending off was pretty much the only decision he got right.

To be fair we're all biased and see things with fan specs on. The referee was poor and both sets of fans were having a go at him. But I don't think you can say your team was totally innocent, your players were equally as guilty for surrounding the referee and trying to influence his decision.

Sunderland try to play good football but will mix it and refuse to be bullied like we used to. Our Southampton game was totally different and much more civilised.

I think you'll have more rough house games than us this season tbh.

He also failed to award a perfectly good goal and a stonewall penalty for Sunderland. And I suggest you watch the aftermath of the foul leading to the sending off again. Your players were also surrounding the ref.

For the Jobe header he was onside when the ball was played ...

... but I can't fault the referee for the Clarke penalty shout, it was a big tangle of legs so he couldn't be sure.

I've seen them given against us though.

I didn't say our team was innocent nor that our players didn't surround the ref, I merely commented on the fact that rule is not being enforced. We are seeing it everywhere still.

If Colback's tackle was so bad, how comes Bellingham carried on playing without a problem until the 83rd minute when he was subbed? Yellow card and a stern telling off would of sufficed. Bloody soft northerners bleat like little girls nowadays. That would of been a good challenge with the ref waving play-on back in my day.
