Saw him play a few times last season on Sky, including against City, and at the MKM in person. Decent player and a good deep playmaker at this level. Seems very composed on the ball and can pick a pass. My biggest concern is that he’s as lightweight as Seri and Slater are and that is our biggest weakness in midfield. We’re decent in possession but get overran and bullied in midfield off the ball. Also, a lot of Blackburn fans seem to prefer Travis and Wharton as a partnership over Morton with either of them.

Plus, I don’t really want a player on loan with no option to buy in a position as important as that. If we’ve got money to spend, which the £5 million for Philogene seems to suggest, we need to be buying someone in the profile of Ben Whiteman even if it means dropping one of Seri or Slater.
How many Blackburn supporters have you spoken to? I work with lots of them and while they’re all aware that Wharton is an outstanding talent he’s still a bit raw, which is presumably why he didn’t start that often last season and most of them don’t rate Travis.
Just out of interest, if you look back at last week’s highlights, you’ll see that both of them were at fault for losing the ball in midfield which led to very good chances for us that should have led to goals but for our poor finishing.

Coyle is technically limited, to play centrally in our style would leave him exposed probably

Coyle is decent overall but he above all others makes me feel nervous when he can’t see or find the first pass and checks inside…always feels like he’s about to play a risky pass or give the ball away.

He’s been injured all pre-season. That’s why we’re interested.

Well he seems not to lose the ball alot maybe that is because he is able to make the passes very quickly meaning he does not need alot of time on the ball because his vision is really good and knows what he is going to do soon as he gets the ball, and it mostly always goes forward watching that and that makes for pretty good defence and attack at the same time.

This may be the vino talking....but why is Slater undroppable? He is average at best (unpopular opinion). Just done ok in an average city side.

****ing hell, don’t say owt on Twitter. His dad and brother will have a right go at you.

I still think playoffs or above will be a big ask but if we don't put on a good half dozen places this year then I don't think Rosey will be taking next pre season without significant mitigation.

Like I said, I think 14th is where we’ll be. We’ll play some decent football at times but we’ll draw too many games we should’ve won and lose quite a few as well. I don’t think Rosenior will be here next summer. More than happy to be proven wrong though.

I think you just might be.
