83% pass completion rate and 65% tackle success rate. Likes a booking also if his Blackburn stint is anything to go by.

You just don’t understand what a player like Slater does.

Posted on a day when we're 2 places off the playoffs. Perhaps there's a new definition of 'near'.

He does look very good and the lad certainly can make killer passes Switching the play between the wings to bring the wide players into the game i can see why Originallambrettaman thinks he will take over from Slater.

Just have to see if it is him surprised Blackburn never tried to take him back?.

How much have you seen of Morton? I work at Ewood and as part of my role I was at most games last season, so got to see a lot of him and I would have him as a number 6 over Travis any day of the week. That’s the position he played at Liverpool but he can do both. He may not be quite ready to step into their first team but he’d be an amazing signing for us. I suspect that LR is looking to bring him in because of his versatility and I could easily see him replacing Seri as the deep playmaker because he can do that but can also tackle and break up play.

100%. He would get in almost all championship sides in that deep midfield role.

Saw him play a few times last season on Sky, including against City, and at the MKM in person. Decent player and a good deep playmaker at this level. Seems very composed on the ball and can pick a pass. My biggest concern is that he’s as lightweight as Seri and Slater are and that is our biggest weakness in midfield. We’re decent in possession but get overran and bullied in midfield off the ball. Also, a lot of Blackburn fans seem to prefer Travis and Wharton as a partnership over Morton with either of them.

Plus, I don’t really want a player on loan with no option to buy in a position as important as that. If we’ve got money to spend, which the £5 million for Philogene seems to suggest, we need to be buying someone in the profile of Ben Whiteman even if it means dropping one of Seri or Slater.

Don't argue with Kalman, he's a master tactician and a renowned expert on every player in world football.

Do you know if there is any reason Blackburn never took him on loan again?.

I hope we don’t sign a defensive midfielder so Kalman can spend the rest of the season having melt downs, because he knows best apparently.

I think what this team is really crying out for is an attacking midfielder who can play on the wing.
