I notice you have to outline your views on the subject before closing it for any further responses.

You could argue that we should support our employee if we believe him to be the innocent man he currently is ...

... or, if we believe him guilty, have the courage to sack him and wash our hands of him.

What we're doing is a little cowardly imo.

I commented then suggested we leave a tricky subject and got the thread back on track as it was heading down a dodgy route imo.

Feel free to carry on discussing the diamond situation, after all its not like you appear in a mood to listen anyway.

Can't sack him incase he's found guilty, but the club can't play him with that kind of accusation against him.

I honestly believe both alleged victim and alleged attacker should not be named until verdict is reached.

Pretty naïve to think a club/company wouldn't distance themselves from an employee facing the allegations he is. Especially a company that has had an employee jailed previously. It's not the club's responsibility to find him guilty or not, that's the entire point of the justice system

How class would it be if we’ve already signed Rusyn, kept it quiet from the media, then officially announce him minutes before naming him in the squad at 2pm tomorrow.

Not going to happen, I know, but a man can dream.

Absolutely. Utter disgrace they are publicly named.

Going back to Mendy is prime example. Everyone assumed his guilt (ashamed to say myself included) and there was weighty evidence that he didn’t do it, he was legitimately innocent.

Trial by media is a ****ing horror show.

Diamond’s career is over already now like, or at least the career he might have had, no matter what the verdict.

He’ll always be guilty in the eyes of some, unless the lass actually came out and said she lied, which is doubtful.

Came on for a look at any latest transfer gossip, and instead it looked like a discussion on the law.

With respect, how can the club have an opinion on guilt or innocence. Do you think they have access to the complainant and what they have accused.

With respect, if they don't have the facts they should go with 'innocent until proven guilty'.

How would Diamond be feeling if he's totally innocent.

Club will have taken proper legal advice on how to proceed (I.e. not Mags Byrne) and be playing absolutely by the book. Isn’t one of the Dreyfus family lawyers on the board?

So to segway back to transfer news, I’m speculating Diamond will never again pull on a pair of boots while on our books regardless of the outcome. He’ll be released by club as soon as the case is over, either in handcuffs, in disgrace or if found innocent to allow him to ‘move on’.

That's all fine by me mate.

I just believe we, as the club, should pay him off if we believe he's culpable.

It’s in the legal system, unless there has been a breach of contract then will need to wait for that verdict. If we sack him for misconduct and he’s later proven innocent we would not be in a good position. Only alternative would be to pay up his contract which I wouldn’t want to do if he’s guilty.

So if the club are treating him as innocent why is he suspended.
