Making the paly offs after so long in League one and the club on the verge of administration is a great achievement Massive progress in anyones books.
You say If we go backwards If is a great word. You seem to be complaining about something that hasn't happened yet.
as they say choose optimism mate it just feels better

I try to be optimistic mate it’s just a battle when people on one hand say we were amazing last season, played the best football in the league, have all these wonderkids but then claim we overachieved so asking for the same again is unrealistic and has brought the worst out in people.

I know, you know and everyone else knows that if we weren’t so unfortunate with injuries last season we could’ve had a real push and fancied our chances against anyone. So how is that an overachievement to finish 6th? We deserved where we finished last season so this argument around us expecting too much this season is nonsense in my own pessimistic opinion :emoticon-0102-bigsm

For us to finish in the play offs and then supposedly be happy with mid table is mental. Would Coventry and Boro be happy with mid table? Both of whom have lost numerous of their best players and now need to hope their new signings can replace them.

That means we’ve either got worse or 6-8 teams below of us have strengthened, therefore where we do go from there if other teams are getting better whilst we’re content on whatever it is we’re trying to do.

Yep. Optimism is my normal default position, even after well over 50 years of watching!

That said, WT also made the interesting point that Ipswich were significantly shorter odds than us to go up this season, and that with a young team just up from League One. Bookies are dispassionate so they might see what we don't.

I think we may see a change of Manager before the end of September.
Are things really that bad ? It’s a crazy situation to be in year in year out, surely unvlenTony knew the remit when he signed up.so is it the recruitment side or clash of personalities

Almost an annual ritual if so. I'm sure there will be others who fancy signing a contract, doing a year and then expecting a nudge.

You would certainly not buy a house up here on the strength of getting our job!

lose the next two and fans might start asking for it anyway.

personally I wanted a united club. I hoped Mowbray was bought in but if he isn’t then so be it.

Id imagine Speakman wants a “first team coach” rather than a manager. But even those guys will want to be listened to on recruitment

(Although I think Mowbray gets listened to on recruitment more than some let on - hence Dack)

Last 3 managers to start and finish a season here:

Jack Ross, David Moyes, Steve Bruce.

Dear god.....are they really thinking about changing the manager again. When will this club ever get a period of stability. A new manager means new backroom staff, new methods, he will want his own players in etc etc etc. So we start again and if that goes tits up we change again. Mowbray has done NOTHING wrong, why the hell would they consider someone else at this stage

I get that they have a certain template of a Head Coach (young, technical, works well with younger players, happy to be HC rather than Manager) but what we have right now is working. Any new HC would be a gamble (as is every appointment) and it's not a gamble we need to take right now IMHO

Reckon that’s from the clubs side or a frustrated Mogga?
I still think, once we get another striker in, that things start to look even better. Mowbray seems to really get the buy in from the squad and that’s what we need. Some untested foreign coach coming in, who rocks the boat wouldn’t be for me at the minute.

It won't be massive change though mate, that's the idea behind having a sporting director. The new head coach will play a certain way and will have similar principles to the old one. As far as backroom staff, Proctor and Dodds will still be here, so it may only mean an assistant head coach will come in. Saying all that, I hope TM stays

Fans are not sick of big Tone, it’s the lack of an oven ready striker fans are sick of and that’s not big Tones fault.
Agreed. Situation not great behind the scences. Transfer dealings, attitudes and a run of results in September may see the senior management bring in a young european manager.
