Tavares in talks with Nottingham Forest for a permanent move away https://x.com/fabrizioromano/status/1691723489915392338?s=46&t=IS6F8i2fsfZuty9C8Z27Dw
Monaco are also preparing a second bid for Balogun after their previous offer of around €40m was rejected. Let’s see what they offer this time around… In any case, I’m glad to see some movement on the sales front.
Runarsson agreed a season-long loan to Cardiff City. Boggles my mind why we can’t get rid permanently. https://x.com/mcgrathmike/status/1692132410173829275?s=46&t=IS6F8i2fsfZuty9C8Z27Dw
Fabrizio saying we may enter the race for Pavard due to Timber’s injury. Not a huge fan from what I’ve seen but I have to trust the scouting on this.
https://x.com/teamnewsandtix/status/1692192013251182833?s=46&t=IS6F8i2fsfZuty9C8Z27Dw they can have him for £100m. Otherwise they can do one.
Nuno Tavares to Forest has collapsed, apparently there’s other options he’s considering instead? Hoping we get £20m+ for him.
Not really transfer news, but Ivan Toney admitting on ‘The Diary of a CEO’ podcast that he’d love to join Arsenal. Personally, I would love to take him. He’d be an excellent option and he’s the exact profile Arteta loves. He’d also be our best attacker IMO, so I’m all for it. I’m doubtful it will happen.
He'd score bucket loads in this team. I really hope we go out and get him, but like you I can't see it happening.
If the whole betting scandal hadn't happened, I'm convinced we'd have tried to sign Toney this Summer instead of Havertz. But Arteta is big on player character, mentality, attitude and behaviour - both on and off the pitch - so I don't believe we'll entertain it now. He may have screwed himself out of getting a big move.
I’ve given my view on this plenty of times, but I guess the difference is that Toney was officially and publicly charged with betting offences. Partey wasn’t/hasn’t been officially charged with anything. And if he was, we’d have gotten rid in a heartbeat. Obviously it goes without saying that I’d prefer if he wasn’t an Arsenal player regardless, but I think there are certain legal ramifications if you try to get rid of a player if they haven’t formally been convicted or charged of an offence.
businesses which are in the public arena often have clauses in contracts regarding bringing them into disrepute though have no idea if that applies to Arsenal in particular or even football in general . Personally think this is a great fault of the transfer system as the clubs have such a vested interest due to the value players have. I just think not many clubs are great on matters like this and one example from my club is Jan Molby
Can a person be accused of bringing a company into disrepute based on someone elses unconfirmed accusation?
