Indeed, apparently Ava Smith used language even the north stand would blush at. I also remember Eamonn who would often show anyone passing him his ABA medal that hung on a chain around his neck, I always gave him a quid for a drink or two. :emoticon-0143-smirk

I was trying to remember Eamonn's name. <ok>

It's funny how things change, as I know they could each have their moments, but they tended to be characters you didn't really mind bumping in to and sharing a moment or two with. More recently I used to do the same with the guy that dressed up like a soldier in the India campaign that marched around Beverley Rd. He had some interesting, if not always believable stories to tell.

But people seemed to care about them, and were happy to let them live the way that they'd apparently chosen to, or at least they'd rejected the alternatives when offered.

These days...

Bugger, won't open for me.
 
Takes a while to open, but I've just lost 45 minutes very quickly - mainly, trying to look at the images above where my Dad grew up on Gypsyville - what happened to St Nicholas Church, did it get bombed?
