Looking forward to this one. I like midweek games, me, it sort of breaks the week up in a mid week break sort of way, until Saturday when we are home again, which is nice.
Games between us and our South Yorkshire cousins are seldom memorable, of course this one, hopefully might be. My best memory of a Donny game was in the FA Cup, (could be wrong there) at Boothferry Park when wee Billy Bremner was their manager. Always felt a bit sorry for the little Scot because he reached the peak of his carear when he joined us and fully expected to move up to manager when the opportunity arose, it did, but it passed him by and he had to make do with Donny Rovers instead, a real shame and obviously a big disappointment for the boy, that and spending most of his carear at thingy united.
But his brave troops were up for it that day in their cup final against the Tigers at a not quite packed Boothferry Park. I bet not many of those rubbishing City for losing at Carrot Crunching Road yesterday were there to witness it?
Sadly, for them, Bremners boys took a real pasting that afternoon, playing City off the pitch for 89 mins, until, I believe it was the elusive Nick Deacy who broke away and broke their little South Yorkshire hearts with a late winner in our only attack. Sheer joy for the three or four hundred of us trying to look as though we were packed together in the Kempton. Be nice to see Grant McCanns cheery face again too on Tuesday. Hurry folks I'm hearing tickets are in great demand and as many as 800 have already been snapped up. Don't you just love the cup? UTT.
I was at that game and I am also one of the 800 . As you say , they played us off the park and Deacy got a breakaway goal .Thought the Doncaster fans where in the Kempton that day too . We lost at Tottenham in the next round so it must have been 1981 .

I'm predicting more *Greggs paper bags in the penalty area than Donny players.

*other suppliers of sandwiches and cream fancies are available.

Coincidentally - The Character " Donny " From " The Big Lez Show" Has No Bearing On The Namesake Slang Equivalence Of Any Actual Place In The U.K

Hull City 1 - 1 Doncaster Rovers - City To Lose Penalty Shootout

Always thought Grant's teams are very poor on the ball but really good at winning it back high up the pitch and creating chances from there rather than from build-up play. Could be interesting to see how that matches up against our playing out game.

Pretentious ****ers in Donny. House “The Vulcan Experience” but have no links to Star Trek whatsoever.

City 3-0 Meh

Baz said on Twitter that Sinik is still nowhere near fitness to be considered even as an option on the bench. I know Rosenior works with them nearly every day so knows more than us but I just can’t fathom why a physically unfit and overweight Connolly can get 20 minutes in a league game but Sinik can’t even get a sniff even in the cup.

I’m sure there’ll be a few teams in Turkey, including Antalyaspor who now have some money from selling Haji Wright, that would take him.

One possibility is that his fitness issues are in part a diplomatic way of communicating that he won't be playing any time soon without saying that it's because he's not very good and we want rid.

That could make sense if not for the fact Rosenior has been quite open about Woods not being in his plans and saying he’s free to find another club. Woods didn’t even get a squad number.

I am going to wildly speculate that Sinik has failed a drugs test or something like that. It’s the only thing that makes sense.

So we’re without Vaughan, Allahyar, Sinik and Longman against Donny tomorrow.

So that means Lokilo is the only available winger. Great.
