Im not sure, this will be a cup final for them and I’m sure they’d relish the experience of the atmosphere of a packed stadium.

I doubt they would get a packed stadium unless the fans are paid to attend

Can Woods play if he hasn't been given a squad number? Or is that just for league games?

No Covil or Sinik in U21's today. More likely to see the former tonight if we see either

    I think it'll be:

    Tim LT

    Christie Smith McLoughlin Fleming

    Lokilo Slater Simons Tufan

    Oscar Connolly

Subs: Robson, Greaves, Sinik, Taylor, Hall, Green, Jacob, Simms, Covil

If that team can't beat Donny, we're in trouble.

Doc’s still injured isn’t he? Could’ve swore it said somewhere he wouldn’t be back until September at the earliest after having some ligament damage.

Simms, Hall and Taylor are all playing for the under-21s today against York. Green isn’t though so I imagine he’ll be in the squad against Donny. Covil isn’t in the squad for the under-21s but idk if he’s ready for first-team football yet after his injury.

Simms, Taylor and Hall are in U21's today. Probably an indicator the squad is going to be stronger than expected tonight

Haven't a clue, to be honest I wasn't expecting Doc to still be here, forgot he was in a boot in Turkey lol.

    Stick Green in there then.

I think McCann will want to win this, bit of friendly retribution.

Think this will be the team. Can’t believe we’re so light, especially on the wings, at this stage in the transfer window.

Oh fair, it might be that Rosie wasn't happy with what he saw and is going to use this as an opportunity to get them firing better.

I’d be trying to get our midfield firing - giving Seri, Slater, Tufan some game time but also Simons. Also an opportunity for Traore to play in the centre. Keep Delap fresh. Rest Vaughan - he’s not ready for Saturday/ Tuesday / Saturday football. Play Vinagre to see if he can remember how to play football.

Connolly? Send him to buy the halftime pies. Build his confidence. Give him a role he’s well experienced in and has had obvious success in the past.

They can just give him a number whenever. He doesn't need to be registered for cup games, it's just the league.

Squad numbers are totally separate from the 25-man squad list, which isn't named until the window closes. Until then, we can play anyone we want, and as Steven Toast says, he can just be given his squad number then (probably the 15 he wore last season since it's still available).

Henry Sandat wasn't playing for the U21s either. I wonder whether he might be in the squad for tonight. He's got a bit of first team experience so would expect him to be one of the more senior U21s.

Good point. It seems the under-21 players who have arrived from lower league first teams like Covil from Forest Green, Vaughan from Oldham and Sandat from Southend are fast-tracked into our first-team setup compared to the lads in the academy who have little experience with men’s football.

It's a model most other clubs follow these days.

Oh yeah, I’m not complaining. Makes perfect sense. Probably why we’ve let our most promising academy closest to the first team out on loan this season for some first-team experience. Saying that, we could’ve used Jarvis tonight given the lack of depth on the wings.
