By that logic we should be quoting £30m+ for Tanganga

I very much doubt we'd get £20m for Tanganga...

So do I but Kellerher can actually do his job to a high standard and will only get better.

Kelleher has gone from being in goal for a 5-0 win over Watford a couple of years ago to a 4-4 draw with Southampton a couple of months back, so technically he's getting worse

Well it's certainly a massive show of support by the owners, spending that much on a totally unproven kid.

By this measure, you probably should've paid around £95m for Onana.

It's what good CEO's do, back the manager. If you don't trust the manager why would you employ him?

Burnley's spending is a little weird when you look at their last three seasons
2021-22: £36m (spent on James Collins, Max Cornet and Wout Weghorst - the rest of their transfers were on frees)
2022-23: £27m (spent on half a squad, albeit balanced out on the likes of Pope, McNeil, Collins and Cornet leaving for PL teams)
    2023-24: £51m and counting

Compare that to, say, Norwich's spending when bouncing between PL and Championship and there's a clear difference - which did have me check if they'd got new owners or something

He has just had an exceptional tournament for the England under 21s, he looks a fabulous prospect and his stock currently very high, of course being good at a junior international tournament is not a guarantee of him going on to be a great keeper, but its a good start. He was excellent for Bolton last year in league 1, and I don't think that he is that much of a risk and they could easily double there money in a couple of seasons.

A tournament that they won and in which they didn't concede a goal.
He made a late penalty save in the final to ensure both of those things, too.

He may have only featured for Bolton in League One, but they were pretty solid while he was there.
He joined in January of the 2021/22 season when they were 18th and they finished 9th.
The following campaign saw them finish 5th and only concede 36 in 46 games.
That's the second best in the division behind 2nd place Ipswich on 35.
He kept 31 clean sheets in 78 games for them overall, which is very good for a youngster.

The only thing that's questionable about the transfer is the stipulations.
Sell-on and buy-back clauses put them in a fairly **** position.

A keeper is arguably the only position that you can look at in lower league levels and be fairly confident that they will perform at a higher level. The skills are far more directly transferable without other influences, such as physical strength, stamina, speed etc.

What's your objection to that description?

Kelleher's played 5 league games and 16 cup games at senior level.
That's very, very few for a player that'll be 25 in November.
Trafford made nearly 4 times as many appearances and he's 20.

Diego you're wasting your time because the Tottenham fanbase is delusional.

I recognise the symptoms and it'll take 15 to 20 years for them to be cured.

I don’t even believe in god but this guy was definitely favoured by something from above. Think one of my best footballing moments was getting to watch him play live… even if he did absolutely annihilate us in the process <laugh>

I'm not saying that's a fix, but the keeper's positioning makes absolutely no sense.
Sets up his wall to block shots to his left, then also stands on the left himself?
That would be stupid for a right-footed free-kick taker, nevermind the most famous lefty.
