It looks like David Silva's going to have to retire due to an injury picked up in training. He's 37, but it's unfortunate to lose his last season like that.
Phenomenal player too. Loved watching technicians like him. Not many left now either, especially still at the top level, probably just Modric and Kroos. To think at one point we had those two, Xavi, Iniesta, Silva, Alonso and Pirlo all playing at the same time, plus further forward creators like Eriksen, de Bruyne and Ozil too, as neutrals we were spoilt.

Newcastle sign Harvey Barnes for £38m. Which by astonishingly unlikely coincidence happens to be the exactly the same as the amount they are set to receive from Al Ahli for Allan Saint Maximin. Also, by astonishingly unlikely coincidence, Al Ahli are owned by the same people as Newcastle. A truly remarkable sequence of events. One for the Great Big Book of Utterly Improbable Coincidences.
Just wondering why the Saudi's didn't pay anywhere between £80m-£100m for ASM so Newcastle could have bought a couple of players.
They can't sign any more players due to FFP requiring their outgoings to weigh more on the balance sheet. Instead of doing it the fair and proper way, Yassir Al-Rumayyan picks up the phone to PIF's Jeddah office and instructs the board at Al Ahli to put in a bid for a Newcastle player that precisely corresponds to the amount they need on the balance sheet on the opposite column to Harvey Barnes' name. And you're totally ok with this?
Cos toon were warned that uefa were looking out for "unrealistic" bids for their players from clubs in a league run by their owners?
Quite enjoyed Messi's winning last minute goal for his new American team direct from a free kick. I think Spurs should take a look at the right winger of Cruz Azul and Mexico.Name of Altoona. A throw back to the days when a winger got the ball and went for goal.He scored a beauty for Cruz Azul as well.
