I don't think anyone's actually having a meltdown, just giving an opinion of how they'd feel if Henderson takes the Saudi money. Speaking personally, having considered the circumstances, I'd be disgusted ... ... you may see that as a meltdown, I'd say it's my honest opinion. How will you feel if he does go?
I'm giving up with this thread until it's announced one way or another. You seem to be intimating he's gone to Saudi...
It's his life, he can do what he wants. Plenty of people go over there to work and make more money. I won't hold it against him.
That's fair enough, it's your opinion. I'd lose all respect for him but that doesn't make it a meltdown or vitriolic. It's a question of your own personal standards. There are things I'd happily do for money, if I believe it's honest, decent and worthwhile ... ... and there are things I wouldn't do for money. If money is all that matters to someone there's probably nothing they wouldn't do.
I've know people who have gone to work in The Middle east. The driving force for them has been the cash. All I ever felt was envy. I did two tours in the area in my service days, two years in Aden then another year in Sharjah. As I remember the most I earned was £8-11-6 plus Local Overseas Allowance.
Money is a massive thing in most people's lives, doesn't mean there's nothing they wouldn't do for it.
On that basis he'd be entitled to take a bigger offer coaching the Russian national team and have the 'scarf photo' with the leader of that state instead of the Saudi state.
I see Henderson and Gerrard are getting criticism in the press https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...-Henderson-considering-Saudi-Arabia-move.html
Stand by for some Matt Hancock style 'lying through his teeth' drivel. "I'm not going for the money, it's to highlight the cause for dyslexics ... oops, sorry I meant LGBT or was it slave workers. Let me check what I'm supposed to say and I'll get back to you."
Now you are just making up scenarios for the sake of it. The lad hasn't even accepted mentioned going to Saudi and he's getting grief.
If we cast our minds back, just a little, many were forcasting that Players would boycott N/C once Saudi ownership was confirmed. Some though, maintained that it wouldn't take long for 'money talks' to become the basic rule. These got it right. So, what's the difference in working for Saudi Arabia in Newcastle or in Jeddah, apart from a much lower rate of income tax to be paid? And those UK citizens who make their living working in Oil Fields, around the World, are there are lots of them often work in countries where the Political Systems are somewhat draconian. Why pick on footballers to criticise? As for Jordan, he is approaching the end of his career. He has done more good than most Players, during his time. I cant begrudge him a last huge payday. Which is not to say that I don't understand the point that those who do hold. I simply hold another view.
People have jumped the gun as you say it’s not done until it’s all signed. I’ve done the same, mainly shocked that it’s even possible. Considering the reaction so far, the silence is deafening from both the player and Liverpool.
