Been trying to rack my brains who could be captain if he went and I’m struggling to think of a leader who is also a guaranteed starter, so I hope to god he stays

Aye we've got leaders in the squad including starters, but they're all too young imo, I don't really want someone who's still learning on the job. Players like Neil, Ballard, Cirkin, Hume could be great picks for it in a few years but not yet for me.

At times i find it hard to believe how many fans are happy for Pritchard to leave. I think he has great impact on the pitch and if you look back at his contributions for goals it is very good albeit he probably has more involvement than actual assists but his contribution and how he creates space especially for Clarke i think gets overlooked. Clarke is often more effective when Pritchard is playing and I think that is probably down to how good he is at breaking the lines and creating problems for the opposition. He should probably score more goals and maybe his direct assists are not as good as some but his overall contribution should not be taken too lightly imo

For me it comes down to consistency, last season he would be class for 1 game but then really poor the next couple of games

I dont mind him staying as he would be great as an impact sub. Hes at his best when the game is opening up and he can get in the pocket to make things happen. The problem is if he starts game he is knackered by the time the game opens up so he doesnt become as effective

That's the reason im not against him leaving, but im happy if he stays as well. He just doesnt impact games consistently enough in the championship. His good games are still quality and hes a joy to watch when hes on it, just dont happen as often as we would like

We need a couple of robust grizzled veterans to protect and guide these young lads. Big thugs who take no ****. They would have been the difference against Luton.

Absolutely, two would be enough I reckon. Would have made all the difference against Luton as you say.

This is how feel....he's a good player and when he's on it,the younger players around him get the benefit, but he just doesn't do it enough for me. I like him,but wouldn't cry if he left.

Really pleased to see Danny Batth on this trip. I reckon with him,Ballard,Triantis and Seelt options in the middle at the back,we won't be bullied any more.
Also,I see Batth as a leader. Hope all these rumours about him have been put to bed.

i like pritchard, but i also think he 'plays himself out of the game'...by that i mean he is always the first and sometimes the only one closing down, he chases everything even if he has little hope of getting there which leads to him being knackered and less effective, i also think a few do not notice his workrate, but he really does need more goals/assists although players like him tend to have that one 'big' season, maybe it will be his season this time.

We'll see what happens with Batth. Then is the time to asses what's happened. There was quite a few who were critical of the club with no idea of what was happening or how it would play out. I hope he stays but I also trust the club to act both in the interests of the team and doing the right thing by players.

With 9 subs on the bench and 5 subs available, I'd rather have 60 mins of Pritchard than 0 minutes, if that makes sense?

Its going to be interesting how the culture on this evolves as managers get used to having so many substitute options. There's more and more scope for older, less fit but still impactful players, to start games knowing they will never need to play the full 90.

If you look at the video of last season's goals it spells out exactly what you've said ...

... his problem is that he sometimes makes it all look tok easy imo.

He's always one step ahead of play which, sadly, sometimes includes our own players.
