We need three keepers capable of playing in the first team. We were on a knife edge with Cooper out injured and the games coming thick and fast, Saturday and Tuesday. It doesn't have to be a second injury: a dodgy red card for Callum Burton could have left us with a teenager in goal for 3 or 4 games while an emergency signing was arranged.

There has been talk of Callum Burton being on several clubs radar for a while now so if one leaves then it will hardly be a shock.

This is taking awhile to come up ?

I'm thinking that Callum Burton is also finalizing a deal....and they will be one in one out.....and the selling price will cover the buying price.

Now Conor Hazard has been around gaining experience although he is down the pecking order at Celtic he has proved that he is good.....My thought then is he will not want to continue as a stand in keeper.....whick makes me think that when Michael Cooper returns and prove he is as good as ever...he could well move on in the January window and Argyle will do well with a good selling price for him.

Maybe I'm over thinking the whole thing....but it is a possibility.

That, if I may say so, is a whole load of assumptions in one go. It could happen of course but.......

    INCOMING.

Celtic Keeper Conor Hazard 25 yrs old signs a 3 yr contract.

This has been slow happening....maybe he had to walk down from Glasgow.

Not sure how our three keepers fit in pecking order wise.....a three year contract suggests he is here long term.....maybe Callum Burton might be moving on as I suggested awhile ago...who knows ?

I think we need three keepers and and at least two in all the other positions, taking us to 23. Were entitled to 25, plus Under 21's who are NOT on loan.

I have no doubt Michael Cooper will be Number 1 as and when he's back to his best form.

I just watched the brief highlights of the Parkway game. Good goals and one good save from Callum Burton but that’s about all you can take from a snippet like that.

I also watched Stephen Schumacher’s interview. He confirmed what I think we all suspected: Michael Cooper is doing well but won’t be ready during for the start of the season.

Was watching a weather forecast recently where they were talking about temperatures across Europe and I think Italy was generally 40 degrees. I can't do that sort of temperature these days but I could definately handle cheap wine. It also said that it was expected temperatures to increase above 40 next week.

Steven Schumacher says that Michael Cooper recovery is ahead of schedule and he could be ready by early September.....I can understand the need for three keepers.....what we'll have will be three experienced keepers vying for one place.......now I could understand two experienced keepers plus a good youngster backing them up like Zac Baker.

It will be difficult to keep three experienced keepers happy over a whole season....I still think that there is a chance of Callum Burton moving on or at least go out on loan.

Reserve league football would keep all squad members up to speed....it did years back.

Stevenage, who had him on loan from Norwich before he came to Argyle, have expressed an interest in taking Saxon Earley on loan once again. Argyle have declined the offer to give Earley an opportunity to make his mark. He has impressed Schumacher in pre-season.

Rather unsurprisingly Stephen Schumacher also told the 'Erald that he would be keen to have Finn Azaz back "if he wants to come back". Read what you like into that choice of words.
