Hopefully the 2 are a striker and a dcm. Wouldn't mind another forward player coming in, who can play a number of positions upfront.
I'm not that closely involved in it, I'm just hoping they pull through and if we do sign the players we're looking to recruit I'll be happy because they look like good footballers.

Yeh nice to hear Mowbray say he;'s excited about the targets we are working on. And also that he sees the third striker as a priority.
My thoughts about strikers are fairly simple.
If we intend to play only one up top, we need 3 strikers, to allow for injuries, loss of form etc. If we are playing Roberts and Clarke (most likely). One striker is probably the formation
If we intend to have 2 strikers, a la Phillips/Quin, then we need 4 strikers. If ny some minor miracle Amad was to return, to see him and Stewart together ❤
1st strikers have to score goals
2nd Speed
3rd two footed
4th (or even higher) heading ability

I went them to be two I’ve never heard of. Keeps my brain stimulated and off the politics thread where I’m a nightmare
He is though tbf. He was just asked to play a role not familiar and having the added pressure on the young man's shoulders of being our only striker playing a position not suited to him.
Yes Gelhardt will go on to have a good career. He wasn't in the right role for us, wasn't fully fit. Can't be judged on that. Seemed to give his all as well so I bare no ill feelings.
What he says in public might not be alway what he thinks - it would do nothing for players' confidence if he said something like - 'he can't control owt and hasn't scored for yonks'!
still dont think we should be rushing to sign anybody else unless they are no questions asked our top target.
We don't want to sign our 5th choice striker because we cant afford our first 4 choice strikers.... and THEN get an offer we want / need to accept for Clarke for example.
We should wait a while IMO. See how the market is going. I appreciate we dont want to go into the first game with "just" Hemir as a striker but I think its worth holding off until we know what our budget is. Wouldn't it be great if we could spend £7m on a top, top striker in august?
In an ideal world we'd forget about selling any of our players... get them all to sign new contracts, and then just sign players now based on not selling anybody. But I think realistically there's a chance Burnley or others panic later in window and start throwing money about.
