    Such a small sample size (7 goals in 17) for Simms to know if he really can cut it at top-end Championship. I'd have definitely had him here, but not at that price. Coventry are having their eyes taken out and paying it because they will soon have £20m in their back pocket

    When Man Utd loan players out, they expect them to play, often inserting a clause in the loan contract. If we sign Bishop, does that mean Patterson is away?

    Stewart is a better forward than Simms. I seen it with my own eyes. He makes better runs, he’s better pressing and his first touch is a lot better.

    Yeah, fair point but my opinion was about whether Simms is a Championship level player and worth £8m rather than a comparison with Stewart

    FWIW I think Stewart has more to his game, but Simms can certainly develop. I don't think Coventry would be spending £8m on him without the Gyökeres money

    I think Stewarts all round game is far superior to that of Simms and thats why I believe he is a much more valuable asset and worth more

    The key thing that I’d say is fact here, is sell Gyokeres and replace with Simms weakens a rival.

    I do like Simms and he will do well there, but he’s a level or 2 below Gyokeres and they’ll need a system change to cover his loss.

    Worth pointing out when Stewart was the same age as Simms he was playing in the 3rd tier of Scottish football where he managed 7 goals in 400 more minutes of football.

    I do think £8m is too much for Simms but he’s not as bad as some are making out. If he gets chances he’ll score goals.

    There’s not even a debate as to whether Roscoe is better than Simms he’s levels ahead.

    Simms still useful, still a decent player. There’s not many better than a fit Stewart outside the PL, it’s no slur on Ellis.

    I’d have had him back in a flash for £3million or so with add one.
