Great to hear, but then again sad, that local journalists have such a poor standing. Then again, I'm glad the lads have seen them for what they are.

The NE journalists would do better by reporting on all the good things going on at the club rather than digging for scoops/dirt (like a lot of others).

The lazy bastards are always looking for something sensational mate, rather than doing their job well by reporting actual fact of some interest to their readership.

My thoughts exactly, and if we don't make it this year, that's when we'll have to swallow losing some of them.

Zouma and Aguerd are both sicknotes though, and Ogbonna is past it. I reckon he'd be fourth choice (behind Kehrer), but with four competitions and Zouma/Aguerd almost guaranteed to miss a decent number of games, he'd get quite a bit of playing time, IMO.

Having said that, I don't think he'll leave. SAFC know his potential and WHU won't be willing to gamble the sort of money we'll want on someone unproven in the Prem. Can't see the clubs coming to an agreement.

I assume Clarke is happy to stay too? I know his agent had said as much but those that get bits from inside the club have you heard similar?

If we're looking for another striker option we should consider Josh Coburn from Boro, he actually came through our youth sides but we let him leave. He has done well for Boro and when out on loan, looks like he can finish and has a physical presence not to mention he is from up this way. At 20 he's still very young and will probably accept a role as back up to Stewart, competing with Hemir for a spot on the bench, sticking point might be that as a former player who we let go, we might not be keen to pay very much.

Roberts new deal should be priority one for the club.

The lad is a brilliant footballer and he was prepared to play League One to come here.

He deserves an improved deal and is a massive asset.

    I like this.

Love Roberts me, was buzzing when we were linked, delighted when he signed, ower the moon when he renewed and got the 10 shirt.

I’ll need to see what I am when he extends. Elated maybe.
