Last year, from Portugal, the club showed a brief video of the players training. It was a non-ball drill with those little orange cones the bairns use. I couldn't help but notice that Ballard seemed to be struggling, breathing heavily and sweating profusely, while the other players appeared to be unaffected. I just figured he was behind the curve for some valid reason. However, injuries followed. Unlike Danny Batth, who has a typical center-back physique, I doubt Ballard will be able to play as many minutes as Batth (26099) by the age of 32.

I think we should really be listening to KS when he said that the club are not looking to move on any of the main squad as they are looking to build a squad for promotion, but as everybody says if West ham are willing to pay silly money circa 20 million then I am sure they will look at that. but in reality in 2 to 3 years I think it will be us taking players of them. I think from all we have heard so far from players and the recruitment team I am no expecting many to want to leave as they are all saying the same things, that they can see what's happening and they want to be part of the journey.

Top lad 09. Heart beat of this club.
Was out with the lads I go to the match with on Sat and we were debating O'Nien. Every one of us loves him but none of us could find a position in the starting XI with everyone fit
Even discounting the new arrivals who are an unknown, I couldn't make a case for him starting which is absolutely bonkers.....

Linked to Robin hack on Twitter, 24 year old forward from Germany record isn’t great but could be the 3rd option who can play wide too?

I agree I think Embleton could fill a number of positions, I’m interested to see how he recovers and progresses with this coaching team.
I am not so sure that he will be up to scratch but I do think he should be given every chance not only to prove his fitness but to see if he can show his qualities in this squad as I think a 2 footed midfielder could prove very useful but like I said he must show the quality with it.

Was really highly rated a few years back, pretty sure he was at Nurnberg.

Went to Bundesliga and they moved him from wing to CM (didn’t suit him) then back again, could explain poor stats.

It’s that Brad Jones tweeting it, I probably should have checked that first, not sure he gets much right?

I'm going to stick my neck out and say I don't see why a move to a lower tier PL team would be attractive to us or to any of our younger players in this window.
Most of them are on longer term contracts, they will have the opportunity to move next summer window if we/they get an offer.....potentially more beneficial for them and for us.
We over achieved last season, despite our injury woes, and just fell short at the end. We're improving the squad to try to give a serious tilt at promotion this year.
If we are successful, these players will receive appropriate benefits. If we fail, they will have had another top season under their belt and able to make the step up without us.
This is going to be one hell of a season, the way things are going!
My prediction is,dependent on the injury situation, we will acquire another left sided defender,a defensive, central midfield player and another striking option.I'm assuming goalies are ok.
Leaving us will be Bailey,Pritch and Dajaku. Maybe Anderson and Matete will go out on loan.
My neck is on the block! :emoticon-0102-bigsm

I love o'9 but he doesnt start ahead of neil or ekwah in CM. For me he is a CB now and is probably 3rd choice at the minute.

Class player if used as a CB imo

Agree,he needs the game in front of him. He's a stand out sub for me,versatile,talented,enthusiastic.....what every team needs......and he's great for the dressing room.He can be our modern day Bally, imo.
