If I've caused offence I'd like to take the opportunity to apologise, sorry Kofi. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Yes, correct. A pacy winger with more goal contributions than Zaroury and Benson in the Belgian league would be a far better signing than a 3rd choice left centre-half who is injury-prone. You don’t need to play Football Manager to think this, just a working brain. I’ve never played FM myself btw.
Jesus christ, you've actually just said we should sign a kid because he got more goal contributions in the Belgian league than the 2 lads Burnley signed. That would certainly make scouting a lot easier as it can all be done from the sofa. Burnley are completely different to us, last summer although they didn't have many players left, the likes of Cork, Taylor, Roberts, Brownhil, Barnes, Rodriguez and Gudmundsson all have plenty of experience as well as being really good players at this level. Even now, we're still almost the opposite of this and we're crying out for experience and leadership and clearly, we don't have their budget either.
Nope, not even a YouTube compilation. Saw Bradley play a few times on Sky this season though and thought he was bang-average and wouldn’t be suited to our playing style at all. I would rather take the winger who got 18 goal contributions in one of the weaker Belgian teams.
We took a brave but technically limited centre back who’d just played half the games for a team promoted to the Premier League and now we want to get rid of him and replace him with a brave but technically limited centre back who’s just played half the games for a team promoted to the Premier League. Makes absolutely no sense to me.
Me neither. In fact, I’d say Bradley would be an even weirder signing than Figueiredo since if the latter goes and former comes in, we’ll have three left-footers and one right-footer for our central defence. If we’re getting rid of Figueiredo, we’d ideally need another right-footer unless Andy Smith is given a chance as Alfie Jones’ backup. It would be an incredibly pointless signing on par with Woods.
I don’t think it’ll get that far, but it does mean that we can effectively move players between the squads and give them competitive game time instead of the ****ty U23s games. So players like Snelgrove, Jarvis and Leake, who are on the verge (well, not Snellers, he’s off) of the first team can have a chance to prove they’re ready by being blooded in a competitive environment. It won’t work out every time, but it means we aren’t having to wait for the phone to ring for these players to get a move. It would be nice to have a local link up with Scarborough as they’re at a good level and it’s a fantastic club. I quite fancy them to go up next season actually, if they can keep Greening. I think it’ll be a lower league club in Spain next, there’s been a lot of talk about it. That would make sense with the work permit rules.
The difference is that Bradley probably won’t cost half of what Figueredo is on. He actually wants to come here, which makes negotiations easier too. Bradley was on pittance at Luton, he wouldn’t want much more here. Plus he can move back in with his Mum.
Why is everyone making such a big fuss about the Sonny Bradley signing He’s a local lad, experienced, fairly low wages. If it means Figs moves on it means we’re saving money and replacing him with someone just as experienced as backup.
Cause it makes Rosenior look like a tit when he waffles about signing robust players then signs an injury-prone journeyman who’s no better than Figueiredo. But he’s from ‘Ull so we me must sign him for sentimental reasons (he’s a Yanited fan btw).
Well he’s being signed as a backup so I think he’ll do the job, not better than Figueiredo but probably cheaper. Edit: Can’t underestimate how important/beneficial it is that he’s local too
