Looks like Acun's bought the Irish club. Our strong football investments that started with Hull City continue with the acquisition of the majority shares of Shelbourne FC, one of the oldest and most established clubs in the Irish Premier League. Our goal is to participate in European Cups together with Shelbourne FC, to achieve important successes and to bring many talents to world football. We have absolute faith in Irish football, in the potential of the club and in our fans. Our investments in football started with Hull City FC and now continue at full speed with our investment in Shelborune FC, one of the strongest and most respected clubs in Irish League Premier Division. Our goal is to build a team which is competitive in European Cups and achieve significant success by recruiting and developing young talents. We have absolute faith in Irish football, Shelbourne and our amazing fans.
I've been up all night racking my brain trying to find a reason as to why you would turn up to someone's big day dressed like Rosenior is... The only feasible theory I can come up with is that he travelled on the same flight as Gary Lineker and when they've arrived at luggage reclaim they've had identical samsonite cases and they've got them mixed up???
He’s going to the Champions League Final with the boss but they’ve lost his luggage at Leeds airport - thick West Yorkshire tw**s
They are not all happy with him; Neden bir Türk takımı değil. Mesela Göztepe, Eskişehir, Bursaspor gibi takımları satın alsanız ve Türk futboluna bir faydaniz olsa olmaz mı? Bu takımlar berbat durumdayken İrlanda takımına yatırım neden? Why not a Turkish team? For example, why don't you buy teams like Göztepe, Eskişehir, Bursaspor and make a contribution to Turkish football? Why invest in the Irish team when these teams are in a terrible situation?
So it's not just people in Hull thinking Acun should spend his money on things that benefit them rather than benefit him.
Can someone explain to me what the Shelbourne takeover means? Is it an outlet to snap up potential starlets in that market and keep them at Shelbourne until age 18 (apparently being outside the EU means we can no longer bring underage Irish kids across - they are already going to EU countries). Is it to loan out potential prospects to play competitive football when not ready yet for here? OR is it Acun looking for a fast track into European competition - a different project completely to Hull City cause Hull back to Premier could be a long-term project. Don't really understand it - why not Portugal, Denmark, Slovakia, Croatia etc.
Taking over Shelbourne hasn't taken much more of an investment than buying North Ferriby, their annual turnover is about half our weekly wage bill.
All of the above. It provides a determined place to send U23s who are ready for men’s football but can’t quite make the first team instead of hoping a national league team takes them. Work Permits are the same in Ireland I think as here, but it does mean signing EU players is easier and Ireland’s league is half decent in terms of co efficient, which will help. We can have access to their academy which isn’t terrible, and they have access to ours. It won’t be the last club that becomes part of his portfolio.
Why doesn’t he buy a team in Turkey? Well, he’s a big Fenerbahce fan. Imagine yourself owning another English club that isn’t Hull City. It would ruin a lot for me.
And next we will have 60 players on our books who never even come to hull! we all call **** out of Chelsea but that’s where we’ll be heading Load of ****e to me
There's loads of multi-club owners now, these are just some of them: Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha - Leicester City and OH Leuven Bill Foley, FC Bournemouth and Lorient Nassef Sawaris & Wes Edens: Aston Villa and Vitoria Sport Clube Evangelos Marinakis: Nottingham Forest and Olympiakos Gino Pozzo: Watford and Udinese Daniel Křetínský: West Ham and Sparta Prague David Blitzer, Bolt Football Holdings: Crystal Palace and Augsburg Jerry Cardinale, RedBird Capital: AC Milan and Toulouse Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Qatar Sports Investment – PSG and FC Braga Dietrich Mateschitz, Red Bull Group: RB Leipzig & RB Salzburg Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, City Football Group: Manchester City FC, Melbourne City, New York City, Mumbai City and FC Girona
City Football Group own a few more clubs as well. They own Palermo in Serie B, Troyes in Ligue 2 and Lommel S.K. in the Belgian second division and some others I can't remember. Lommel S.K. are an odd one. They're in the Belgian second tier yet currently have a player under contract called Vinícius Souza who is currently on loan at Espanyol in La Liga. He's widely considered to be in the top 5 defensive midfielders in La Liga yet he returns to a club in the Belgian second tier this summer.
Modern times, much like Connolly at the awards night, and tramps that masquerade as TV reporters these days. Kofi Smiles was on Look North last night, he was wearing a pink top that had more creases in it than Rovertiger's face, just. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
