You mean like that ill run club Brighton getting in Adam lallana? Or that ill run club Brighton getting in James milner?
We were definitely in talks with him but I was told that his agent was pushing him onto us a lot more than we were pushing for him.
I’d be equally annoyed if I was a Brighton fan and James Milner was Mac Allister’s replacement. If Bradley’s a replacement for Greaves it’s disappointing; if he’s just another body then it’s a pointless signing on par with signing Woods last summer as we already have two very good left-footed centre-halves.
Sounds like most of the agents Ehab was used to dealing with! Remember the David Milinković signing...
Cannot se the sense in it if true... or believing a word Rosenior says... totally contradictory to what he has been spouting...
It's our own fault, we should have sacked Rosenior last season when some on here judged him not good enough. If we had then he wouldn't be signing* someone that some others on here** don't think is good enough. *Not actually signing, rumoured to be signing ** Possibly some overlap
Well, I for one like Rosenior as a coach and think he’ll do well for us but when he rabbits on about signing robust players who can fit into our patient, possession-based style of football then we’re linked with a bang-average left-footed centre-half who isn’t suited to our style of play and is injury prone, it does make me a bit concerned, yes. It confirms one of three things: either Greaves is on his way and the club sees Bradley as a cheap replacement or Rosenior is a waffler who says one thing but does another. Alternatively, which I’m most hopeful, is that the rumour is complete bollocks and we’re not in for Bradley at all.
Maybe he's looking for someone to hit the front from the back quickly when it's on - to mix the possession based play up a bit, make it less predictable - as a lot of the better possession based style clubs have the option to do?
This. Free transfer that adds experience and depth to a squad in an area that's not a priority but needs something adding to ensure that we aren't short of players? Seems good to me. Saves money for areas that do need a bit of work.
Tbf, sounds fair enough, if that's what it is. Figs out. Bradley in. Likely money saving, used where we really need it. Plus maybe also buys that year or two to see if the likes of Smith & Mills make it?
Yep. My concern was always - we start the season with Greaves, Jones, Macca as the first choice - but two get injured in the same month. Smith and Mills come in but we hit a bad run of form and the heads drop. Season could be over before Christmas. Bradley could carve us out a couple of 0-0s by knowing the Championship better. Much better to have him here and allow the youngsters to go to League 1 to see how they fare.
The captain of a team that just got promoted to the premier league is definitely well beneath us. Poor signing, should be aiming much higher.
Unironically, yes. Figueiredo played more games for Forest the season they got promoted than Bradley did this season just gone.
To do that he would have to be on the pitch, which means, god forbid one of outstanding CB's (x 3) are injured or he's seen as replacing one of them.
Could be a direct/tall option from the bench to be fair. Or maybe its just a twitter rumour that he's even signing.? TWT. Can't judge a window's strategy by a single signing anyway. Just hope we're stronger overall by August-September time.
