As one of our fellow posters mentioned a while back how come football fans, of which many are law abiding citizens, can be held back, detained, made to travel only on official coaches etc on a weekly basis in some cases yet have to accept it but antagonistic twats who know they are potentially going to get nicked get apologies, law suits and paid out.

The leader of their group has told the police to shove their apology and started legal proceedings, highly likely to be an out of court settlement. This is a direct consequence of poor communication between Senior Police Officers and on the Street 'plod',I fail to see how any of us should be liable to foot the bill.The guidance was vague at best and more of less left the on duty constables to make an on the spot assessment.It's fairly evident that this has backfired in spectacular fashion. Sadly,any out of court settlement invariably comes out of our pockets which leaves a sour taste in the tax payers mouth...
I think the police probably did exactly what they were told, remove anyone who you think might disrupt proceedings and we'll worry about it later.
