It's a weird one. The whole structure of the club is being replaced pretty much at once. Including the key positions. Everyone will be new come next season.

Usually you'd think there would be overlaps or something between staff to ensure continuity but this clean sweep comes across as concerning to me. Especially when you think that SR haven't exactly had a great track record here with their decision making.

This is exactly it, as far as I am concerned. As few years back there seemed to be a lot of positivity with the backroom appointments and it is a shame that the potential envisaged never materialised. It did cross my mind whether the new owners were going to start holding people to account when the departures. I am curious how far any end of season review might go. The likes of Selles might be sweating a bit. ..

Like you have said, I am not confident about SR's recruitment but I cannot see them making a mistake by appointing another odd-ball like Jones again.

Thierry Small had a lively final game in the Scottish Prem.

On as sub at half time. Yellow card in the 67th minute for dissent. Second yellow 14 SECONDS later for shirt-pulling. <laugh>

One of the few players to come out with any credit this season. He’s far from perfect, can be suspect positionally, not the greatest 1v1 defender. But he’s a threat going forward, actually has a good shot on him unlike most of our players, and more than anything you can’t doubt his enthusiasm, commitment or energy. Must have been a difficult season keep getting randomly left out of the side to play players out of position ahead of him too. No idea if he’ll be here still next season or not, but would be happy if he stays.

I assume you mean Perraud, not Moi Ely?

12 years ago we effectively secured promotion back to the Championship at the expense of relegating Plymouth to League 2. I was at Uni in Plymouth at the time so was at the game. Rickie Lambert double and Ryan Dickson of all people for us and a consolation from a certain Yannick Bolasie (whatever happened to him?).

Tottenham and Newcastle United are among the clubs waiting to see what price Southampton will set for England midfielder James Ward-Prowse, 28, should they be relegated. (Mail)
