I think what last night showed was that we are not a team yet good enough to get to the playoffs. Against the better sides, we just don't quite have it right yet, particularly in midfield. It will be interesting to see what happens when Traore is fit and start playing because he looks to be a creative player that can make a difference. We are not far off, but it is going to take 1 or 2 more windows to get the balance right. IMO.
Rosie dropped a ball last night. We were overrun from the start. The front three were anonymous for the first half and yet he persevered with it until we went 2 down.
Taking Woods and Seri off to chase the game was a big risk, it opened us up and the game became end to end, and it didn't pay off.

I agree with a lot of this but last night's defeat doesn't have to be so catastrophic as to mean we definitely aren't good enough for the playoffs. It's one game. In 15/16 we had loads of crap games and still won the playoffs. It's a 46-game season. I don't understand why people are so keen to draw season-defining conclusions after every game.
We're in with a shout of the playoffs because we're only 6 points away or whatever it is. Maybe we'll close that gap, maybe we won't. Realistically the chances are we probably won't, but I don't see any harm in aiming for it and if we fall just short then I'd say it stands us in good stead for a better push next season.
I don't see any harm in having aspirations for the playoffs, I wasn't just basing this thought on one game, I was basing it on the teams we have played above us and for the most part, so far we have come up short. Blunts/Norwich/West Brom. Of course, you never know, but I just get the feeling we are close but just not close enough. TWT of course.
As things look now getting to the playoffs could be a disaster! 3 one-off games and we could be in the PL and there's no way we could be PL-ready by August!
Everyone said that in 2008. We were going to beat Derby's low points record. We didn't listen though, went and won at Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle in our first couple of months instead.
Last night was a wake up call, no matter how much Norwich spent.... I'd have to say, if we'd have served up a performance like the one against Sheffield United and we got beat, no one would be having a conversation about how far off it we are. The team has improved immeasurably, BUT, square pegs in square holes...

Under Shota we were a bottom third team flirting with relegation. Rosie has taken essentially the same players and made them into a mid-table team. Are you expecting to blast away the whole division now?
We had a bad game. That happens to mid-table teams. That's why they are mid-table.

Chazz, you always do this! You say someone's wrong but never say why or offer a counter-argument. I'm quite happy to have my opinion changed but it takes more than just being told my current opinion is ridiculous.
The best way of having a chance of staying in the Premier League, is by getting into the Premier League.

Realistically, the only chance most clubs have of getting a Premier League ready squad, is by getting an extra £100m for promotion. There's rarely any clubs that go up with a squad ready for the Premier League, unless they were only relegated the season before and managed to hold on to most of their squad.
