Love Batth's comments about Amad and Patrick teasing him with 1-2s in training. I have the image of him chasing them round the training pitch shaking his fist

It's a great point he makes. It's not surprising that our defenders are looking so good. They face a tougher challenge in training every day than they do in games.

Is Lihadji's paperwork all sorted now? Wonder if he has a chance of making te bench

Edit: Mowbray answered in the presser. Paperwork all done but doesn't speak a word of English yet. More likely an impact sub in the short term.

It shouldn't be as much of a problem as it is with Bennette at least, because half of our squad speak French so the messages should be able to get across to him.

Great thread as usual @RTB Thanks for your ongoing sterling efforts.
I think we will beat these but it might be tighter than many think.
2-1 Ballard and Amad.

We need to sit down with him and talk about extending his contract <laugh>

The first word we need to teach them all is SHOOT!!!

We've had some absolute dickheads this season, I think he was the ref when we drew with Peterborough, a complete arseclart

I know it's not just my bias because a Liverpool mate always rings for a chat after watching our game or theirs. I never mention the referee unless he does and he nearly always asks wtf?

I have to admit to having a little respect for the Reading fans tbh ...

... it must be soul destroying traipsing around following such a dull pointless club

They stadium is too big for them, stuck way out of town on wasteland and so quiet you can hear the traffic on the M4. The town is dreary and the locals are weird yokels with pretendy Cockney accents. They have the very creepy Paul Ince in charge and admire Tony Mowbray so much they named their forum after his favourite biscuits. Incidentally did anyone know Mowbray's club nickname, as he always has a cup of tea with his biscuits, is Dunc ...

... just a bit of ITK for you there :)

A bit harsh.
Reading used to be pretty grim but it has improved a lot since I've been living down here, the Oracle and surrounding area by the canal is pretty decent to be fair,
the old part of town around the Abbey ruins and the old market place near the Town Hall is good too, there is even a full size replica of the Bayeux Tapestry in the museum. <laugh>
They have a Mackem brewery too

Up until the 70's Reading was known as ‘Biscuit Town’ because of the fame of Huntley & Palmers biscuits. Reading Prison was nick-named ‘the biscuit factory’ because of its close proximity to the factory and Reading Football Team were known as the ‘Biscuit Men’.
The accent is probably due to the influx of cockney east-enders at the end on WW2.
The Stadium is miles from the city centre but it's probably easier to get to than the old Elm park was. <cheers>
