    I wouldn't. No experience, it'd be a massive ask IMO .

Barmby, Mclaren, or Joycey - all would love to manage us for more than just the money.

Well even though ive said i would like Barmby as boss with an experienced No.2 to help him, I also like the idea of having Warren Joyce back as manager with Barmby as No.2 for sure that would help keep ALL the Man Utd kids in place and maybe get one or two more in. But for Joycie and the great escape season I hate to think where this club would be ? maybe playing North Ferriby in the sticky league.

Has no one mentioned Chris Houghton on here yet? He's someone who should be given another crack at management

I think the reality of the situation is that any compensation money we receive for AP will be used by Papa Allam to fund the debt and we are likely to try and do this on the cheap.

I think after the debacle of being messed around by Forest, McLaren would be loathed to come to a club who cannot give him financial assurances about player budget etc etc.

I look at the managers who are currently out of work and look at O’Driscoll and Bothroyd at potential candidates.

If we are looking at managers in a job who we are likely to pay compensation for then Eddie Howe would be my choice. I know he’s not been at Burnley long but he was allowed to speak to Pompey last month so he must be available at the right price. Plus he might bring Jay Rodriguez with him in January – yes please!!

Warren Joyce would by far and away be my first choice. He's probably more of an influence on sending the United lads here than Pearson was himself. And it would entice the United lads to stay with us rather than jump ship with NP. Barmby could be his assistant, or even Scholes who is his assistant now at United. Maybe we could tempt Scholes to come in as player/assistant manager! Now I am dreaming

I think we could prise Lee Clark out of Huddersfield, but it needs AP to be hands on with the football side.

I would go for McClaran, he has an affinity with both Hull and Man U, his style of coaching is probably based on SAF system, so the boys from Man U will understand his style. Ideal scenario meet the Foxes in the play off final and the mightly Tigers to come out on top. Well we can dream for such an outcome!

You mean the Eddie Howe who has guided a quality Burnely squad to the bottom half?

Dave Jones or Steve McLaren for me. Out of the two I'd take Jones.

How could anyone possibly know this? And why would Warren Joyce influence kids to come here? Has he had anything to do with the modern day Hull city? Club is worlds apart from the club he knew. No doubt WJ is a great guy but to suggest he has more influence than NP doesn't fit to me.

has anyone else been sad enough to look at the list of available managers on the lma website. there is probably enough for a shortlist for interviews - if they want to come to the club and city. Looking at the candidates i would go for one of the following 5 -
Alan Curblishley, Colin Calderwood, Sammy McIlroy, Ray Wilkins or Nigel Worthington.

Personally i would like Mr Worthington, but whoever is chosen there will be some critics as soon as he is appointed
