Let's not forget here that a lot of our so called better players are either out injured or making their way back from.injury, this Traore geezer hasn't even kicked a ball in anger for us yet. I'm sure this transfer window will see us bring a couple of additions in, to solidify our position this season, but in all honesty we aren't good enough yet to be challenging for play offs. Realism is a bitch, but it's a harsh lesson in where we are right now.

They’re ****
We have good playersany idiot could stick them on the pitch and we’d do ok
Which is what happens when he’s run out of ideas
I mean we switched shape entirely, stopped playing with wingers, went 2 up front but I guess that’s not being flexible

I think it’s more personnel at this point. Albeit 3/3 games playing against a side playing like this, we’ve always found a way (today, mackems and blackpool) which would suggest the flexibility is there.

Not sure I'm understanding what you mean...finding a way to what? Drop points? Today, mackems and Blackpool should have been 9pts and we came away with 3 total....

Apologies if I've completely got the wrong end of the stick

Finding a way to break down the low block. Yeah my bad, it’s not consistent enough but the changes ultimately lead to goals is more my point. Our inability to sustain width is our issue for me, a striker who thrives with balls put into the box but we have 1 out and out winger (Longman) in the whole squad

Got away with that one, a point when you play that poorly is a gift. If Rosie wants to play this way and challenge for promotion then he has to find a plan b/a way to break down and unlock teams that are going to play against us with deep banks of 5 and 4 when defending.

Question is, does Rosie have to flexibility/knowledge/experience and do we have the players to find an answer.... On the players side of it, I think it's a no overall ATM (we definitely do have some)
I'm not convinced by him yet. TWT. Predictable, lacking ideas, keeping Smith on again for so long, having Seri alongside 2 CB's half the time, not getting the best from a quality player like Tufan, continuing with a CB at LB, etc.
However, if in the coming weeks we can have Tetteh starting (quality), along with Tufan, and Seri playing a bit more advanced, plus the Palace lad or Traore in, and a LB at LB, we could suddenly see the pace, trickery, goal threat that we are desperately missing. Still chance to push for playoffs but it needs a bit of luck with injuries and a bit more bravery from Rosenior.

The extra 6 points from Blackpool, Sunderland and Huddersfield would have its sitting 7th, one point off the play offs... someone just asked if Rosenior is brave enough, maybe he's not savvy enough yet...

and from my perspective Mr Rosenior, its not about the performance its about the result. As a City supporter I would love us to win playing like Barcelona... but equally, I just like us to win...

Agree on most of what you say, do think the talk of play offs should probably stop though on the last 3 home performances alone.

Agree with Smith and for that matter Longman they were both poor in particular Smith did absolutely nothing on the right except go backwards
Smith's not a winger and basically runs around a lot, Longman looks good when he goes inside but does it every time, he never goes on the outside where it hurts them more. I can see why he is after the crystal palace lad and hope if we get him he adds pace

Like when he took their defender on then cut it back for Slater who's decent strike brought about a good save you mean?

No, I mean like when, in the first half, he cut inside drifted with the ball all the way along the 18 yard area, allowing three of their defenders to shadow him to a fourth who took the ball off him.

Been saying it since summer but our midfield is soft as ****. Seri was ****e today in general but he got bullied off the ball so badly. Anyone who is still telling themselves that height, strength and aggression in midfield isn’t necessary is delusional.
