West Ham have confirmed that their joint-chairman David Gold has passed away at the age of 86 after a 'short illness'. I remember sitting a row (or 2?) in front of him in a PL match at the Liberty Stadium that we won easily - and then his car was ‘halted’ by angry West Ham fans outside …. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...man-David-Gold-confronts-angry-fan-VIDEO.html RIP

Gianluca Vialli, the former Italy, Chelsea and Juventus striker, has died today at the age of 58. RIP
The reports state that he had pancreatic cancer. Vialli was diagnosed with the illness for a second time in 2021, having been given the all-clear in April 2020 following a 17-month struggle.
Saw a picture of him recently and he did look very ill and I didn’t think he would be long. Seemed a nice guy with a likeable character. **** cancer…… RIP Luca
He had been seriously ill, on and off, for a long time. I really liked Vialli. He came from a very rich family but worked extremely hard to become a professional footballer. He knew he wasn’t the best by a long way but was clever and brave as a player. He played for Sampdoria, a seriously good team, when I lived in Italy and was always seen as a real threat by opponents. He also had the ability to take the piss out of himself and be very funny. Even though he is associated with Chelsea over here, I can’t hold that against him. RIP
Shocked to hear this sad news, he was part of a great Sampdoria side and this was one of his many goals, RIP...
Wow............. He was a decent player and a decent human being............. and that he never talked it up and made a big deal out of it. A good man. Much condolences to his family.
Pancreatic cancer is a particularly pernicious disease. A good friend of mine died from it a couple of years ago. It’s what Terry Hall died of too. RIP to them all.
RIP GV. Top man. We will always forget one's CFC connections at such a sad time. Stay strong, family.
