Brilliant stuff Snaggey.

Last day in school for the kids down here. I don't recall breaking up so early for Christmas when I was at school. To top it off my lad finishes at half 1! Bloody teachers![]()

We went for a chat with the lovely lady owner of a magnificent estate, near Stratford upon Avon, and were offered a great job. I was up for it but Mrs Smug thought it was overwhelming ...
... she had a point, this was just the hall when we went in through the front door.
The rest of the house was vast and every room was like a fairytale. It would've been a great festive period, they have all kinds of parties organised, but all a bit mad. I thought the Christmas thread was the best place for the video, it's funny when Mrs Smug's legs go wobbly

He went last Monday. Best thing for him. Funeral in the New Year, Poor guyMy wife's Grandpa is on the verge too. Palliative care only. Sad, but it's the best thing for him to just slip away
Sorry to hear that mateHe went last Monday. Best thing for him. Funeral in the New Year, Poor guy
Sounds mad to say it, but I'm happy for him. He lost his wife in Feb 2020 and spent the time since just missing her and declining. He was one of those people who thought he was nothing without his wife.Sorry to hear that mate
My mum passed away on a Christmas Eve so I appreciate how difficult it can be to lose someone in the Christmas season when all around you people are anticipating the big day. It is a tough thing to lose someone any time, but it is made worse everyone else being festive and happy.Aye. My Dad went yesterday. Not unexpected but still a hell of a shock. It's going to be very strange.
Aw, ****e man - I am so sorry for you and I hope it hasn't affected the lads.My lass/fiancee is leaving me tomorrow so theres another downer for this thread
Same with my mum, it was tough towards the end and I was just happy her suffering was over.Sounds mad to say it, but I'm happy for him. He lost his wife in Feb 2020 and spent the time since just missing her and declining. He was one of those people who thought he was nothing without his wife.
It's been hard for my wife, because she loves; loved her Grandpa but her parents have shown very little interest in his decline - she's had to force her Mum to go see him, visit him in the hospital etc
People are funny, You assume an ailing parent is automatically a trigger to drop everything and care for them, but not in her Mum's case. Been a really tough few months, so I'm glad he's at peace
That's what I do marra. Pain in the arse dressing the tree every year, so it goes up the loft as isMy tree's not "up-up" yet, but it's "up".... been "up" 7 years.
This is it in January 2022, ready to go back in the loft.

The only comfort is that at least you don't have all the hassle of a divorce to go through.
